Hello

I have enrolled for CGA and wanted some advise on the way to go about it. How to take the courses...thru CGA or university?

The atrategy you need to adopt.

What I have experienced is that... the method of questioning / evaluation is very different from what we did back home.

Can someonebody please provide some thoughts and views.

Thank you

What is your background? Are you a CA from India? DO you have any practical experience in accounting and/or auditing?

It is easier for a qualified person to pass CGA. Generally speaking CGA courses run by colleges (I believe up to level 3 courses are offered by colleges) are easier to pass. The pass rate is pretty good. It is easier to pass if you have good command over English.

With masters degre, you will probably get exemption up to level 3. I do not know whether colleges run level 4 program. That said I still believe courses run by colleges are easier to pass.

As regards, studying further is inevitable. There is marked difference in earnings and kind of job one gets with Canadian designation compared to one who does not requalify here.

There should be enough discussion/post on CD site. Please make search. I am convinved that requalifying here is must. You have option of pursuing CMA designation. According to my knowledge, it is a big joke. You write 2 papers and participate a lot in presentation. It is supposed to be costlier but at the same time enjoys equal status
