Hi Friends,
I visited canada last year for 3 months on a WX-1 worker visa. This year I came on the same visa with multiple entry. But this time I am going to stay around 6 months to 1 year. Am I eligible to apply for Permanent Resident? I done my Engineering in Computers. I am having around 4 years of experience.
Can anybody help me out in this?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Nag.
Hello
The criteria set for permanent residency application is; if you are a foreign national who has been living legally in Canada for one year as a temporary foreign worker or an international student, you are eligible to apply for permant residency. You have to have atleast one year experience in the category you wish to apply.
The category in which one wishes to apply must be on the list of 38 categories set by Ministry of citizenship & immigration Canada.
In your case; you have a computer engineering degree which falls under the 38 occupations listed at CIC, + 4 years of experience. The NOC number is 0213 which gives more detail on computer related occupations.
Usually a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, business administration, commerce or engineering is usually required. Several years of experience in systems analysis, data administration, software engineering, network design or computer programming, including supervisory experience, are required.
