Hi,
I am looking to buy a new pressure cooker preferably one with the lid over. I looked through some of the earlier posts to see if there was anything on this, but didn't find any information.
I have used Prestige in the past and really liked it. I went by Kohinoor over at Gerrard Street and they have a 5L Prestige which is priced at 75 some dollars. Is the price about right? Are there any other brands out there (not made in India is fine) that are comparable? What other stores should I go check out?
I'd appreciate your comments / suggestions!
Prestige is among the better ones. However its ridiculously overpriced at most Indian grocery stores. Its also sold as Mantrra in the US and Canada.

Amazon (the US site) has it listed for about US$32 , but I 'm not aware if they
ship to Canada.
You could also try Chennai Imports, 1295 Morningside Ave. , Unit# 22, Scarborough - they were earlier listed as importers , not sure if they are still in business.
Your other option is to buy from Canadian Tire. Price is between $50 - $150.
Suppier and brand unknown , quality ???
Your best bet however is to get one from India with enough spare gaskets
and safety valves to last a long time . Thats exactly what I did !
