Its good that you ve arrived at a decision . Wish you the best for that .

I hope you are aware that if you stay on to become a citizen , your spouse can accompany you in any part of the world w/o affecting his PR obligation . This according to me would be a more permanent situation considering that you have already spend some time here and have a job .

Alternatively yes , you can return back through the validity of your current PR as you have decided and if you wish to ...

I am sure that each has a personal perspective and I do not wish to disturb that . Just trying to add awareness for an informed decision , nothing more .

Your timing of coming to Canada and Alberta in particular was not good. The oil price was sliding down and hit the bottom till recently.

As I know, many of colleagues lost their jobs during this period (Sep 08 - Apr 09). There were no investments and all the oil related projects were stopped or cancelled.

Things are slowly improving now. Those of my colleages who lost their jobs were employed in May. You can see all those Exon ads in TV advertising they are planning to invest heavily in Alberta again.

Since your spouse has taken some courses here, chances of getting job is better now than before if his experience is oil related. I feel your timing of coming here and going back both are not good. May be you can hang on for a couple of weeks to see how it works out if possible. Going now and coming back after a while may not be as motivating / interesting since you are leaving Canada with some bad memories.

Hi my suggestion is,
If the offer is really good for ur huband in india then let him go there... u stay here till u get ur passport. Once u get the passport then u always can come back later heren then sponser him or so.

Besides some good ones, all the suggestions I am seeing are for the wife and kid to stay back and husband to return. Fine, they will get the citizenship etc. but how would those three yrs without the presence of a father be compromised. Few visits here and there won't do it. It's not JUST the matter of three years, those are some crucial years of forming of a child, which he has full right to spend with both his parents, better yet grandparents. Besides, how do you think a single parent living in Canada all by herself will take care of the child, daycare, school, her job and a house?

I would suggest members to applaud the OP's decision, as she was having double mind anyways. And now that they have reached a decision, let's not digress them. You never want a person repenting a decision later on in their life.

Haven't you seen single mothers ?

In this case at least the lady has a job , apartment and everything s settled .... It would be a matter of 3 yrs after which there would be permanence unlike the first option in which things would be uncertain , high and dry even after 3 years .....

There would be no need to sponsor later , a spouse maintains his / her permanent residence if he / she is accomapanying a Canadian citizen ... So even if they were to shift back to India after 3 years they will always have a chance to come back .

Human tendency is to settle down in comfortable environments . Its most likely that someone who has relocated from here and re settled back in India may feel against returning back due to relocation blues.

But the OP knows her preferences and has decided accordingly . Its good . Her situation and thinking may not be same as mine and we are both equally entitled to our opinions .

Hey friends,
Thanks for all your suggestions..
Yes to throw more light on the situation...

Yes coming to Alberta in Sep 2008 was a a very bad time...And maybe leaving now is also not so wise...but in all due consideration, for my husband, staying at home for 9-10months without any hopes is also bad...

And as said...its really difficult to stay alone unless its mandatory...so we have decided to go to India and accept the job offer there at this time...

As the PR is valid for next 3-4years we can come back if opportunity permits...

Well thats the way it goes then.....

Princess 2,

I totally Agree, Do what u and ur husband feels is correct. Just one life. Its all about happiness. Don't worry about kids. If u can come here on your own so they can too.

Just one thing a person can go to any country, but to be successful he/she has to work hard and have patience.

All the best and Hope you get for which you are going back.

Cheers
