Is there any online petition to file again racism in Australia?

Can you shift your post to "www.australiandesi.com" if one such address exists? What made you post here?

Your implication of the Indian govt regarding this matter just boggles my mind. Why would they even care? Can you care to explain? Very curious...

Since the poster hasn’t responded, I will respond on why we should not be silent on this racial attacks occurring in Australia.

The fight against racism is a Global one.

When South Africa was suffering from racism during the cold war most governments in the western world turned a blind eye.

At that time, blacks in USA who are mostly descend from the western Side of Africa took an active interest in fighting for the freedom and liberty of their fellow brothers. Most of the blacks knew little about their fellow blacks in South Africa or life in that part of the world. After a long and hard campaign many black leaders like Jesse Jackson, the black population of South Africa got freedom and liberty – as western governments through out the world pressured the South African government to eliminate all racial discrimination.

Even Mahatma Gandhi went to fight against racism in South Africa which was very far from India.

Therefore, we call upon all leaders and fellow citizens of world to speak out against these attacks.

As Indians if we don't raise awareness and speak out for our fellow Indians in Australia, then who will fight for your rights – all around the world? Today, this is happening in Australia? Maybe tomorrow it may be happen to you and where you live.

By posting on online blogs, having a media coverage and protests in Australia and through India if necessary, Indians are conveying that they will not subjected to such acts of inhuman horror and that their is no defense for such racial attacks.

As a result of Canadians speaking out and condemning these racial attacks, we are preempting such attacks ever occurring in Canada. Freedom is something that has been fought for and worth protecting. It is not something to be taken for granted.

The Australian government will be morally and ethically be forced to act – if and only if, government and people all around the world speak out against out is happening.

Amitabh Bachchan could have easily have accepted the honorary doctorate, and justify it along the lines that I don't live in Australia (and hence it’s not something that concerns me). Likewise, Aamir Khan spoke up also.

We are proud of both of these actors for taking a stand against these attacks.

Why would they even care?? Because, the students affected are Indian Citizens. Would you say the same if you get caught in a storm somewhere in Europe (and considering you're a Canadian Citizen) and Canadian Govt. won't care to do anything for you? I am sure you will be the first who would cry out loud for action from Canadian Govt.

And, why should one post the world affairs like this racism incidence here on 'CD'? Because, as someone else mentioned - as an aware citizen/human being and the ones who're responsible should discuss about these matters if and when they happen. Any harm in it?

By your logic 'Gandhi' shouldn't have stood for racism in South Africa because the ones affected were not by and large from India. In SA, he stood for Blacks, Hindus, Muslims, poor peasants/labourers, and rich Indian merchants.

It's not only an Australian issue, but the global one. You can't shed your Indian roots just by attaining Canadian Citizenship.

This is most insane post I have seen. Care to explain what were you thinking? Can you justify your statements with facts? I am very curious to know.
I fully agree with Febpreet, Parth and Sguk. Are we missing something?

Thanks to Sguk and Febpreet for their good replies.

Let us not forget that what is happening to the Indian students in Australia can happen to anybody in any part of the world.

Let us not turn a blind eye to the issue just because we are not affected by it.
