At times i wonder why desi radio progamming in canada sucks? If you compare it with Dubai 101.6 FM or even our Radio Mirchi etc... they do run ads but their programming is far better.

The reason most of the "desi" TV and radio programs suck is that most of them are "one man" shows ..... while as in India or even Dubai it is more of organised corporate kind of setup.

Bascially here it is the same guy doing the programs and the ads .... so you really can't make out when the program is on and when the ads are running !!!

RJs @ Radio 4 FM used to be so good and the same for their quality of songs ...... Thanks for reminding .

Thank god for that. CMR should have a petition site where we can petition them to save us from these horrible desi channel(s). And i say horrible mainly cause of the radio talk show hosts along with the same advertisements repeated always. RRSP, RESP, buy house etc..

4Z4Z you are so right about 101.6 FM (arnonline.com) from Dubai. its way superior. wish we could hear it on the radio here . But i still have ARN blaring in my house on the weekends. good music and they have good guest artists also. i remember they interviewed this singer directly in Dehradun from Dubai. (forgot his name) and he sang some songs while on air. The whole feeling was so good. Dont feel that way here with the radio or tv content.

I usually do not listen to any of the desi radio's, however some people did protest on the closure of this radio station, which can be seen at http://www.meratoronto.com/tn/bandbaja.html.
