Ten Rupees is the new one Rupee. Good that the coin was introduced as India is so very expensive that even 10 Rs. has no buying power.

I am sure you can still buy a small plate of Poha or a vada-pao or one roti on a roadside cart on the streets of Chandigarh/Delhi or AT LEAST a cup of special tea from 'Chacha Tea Stall' with Indian Rs. 10.

What all can you buy with canadian 25 cents? ..... a bubble gum ball for your kid from the vending machine outside the grocery store, may be!

Not only that - you can buy some important medicines even with Rs 10!

Last time I went to India, I had a virtual engiography done. The doctor prescribed a medicine which I was supposed to take the night before to reduce my pulse to 60 pm. I could not easily get that medicine, but when I finally got it after searching two main markets for medicines, it costed me only Rs 2!!

Also, I can still travel by Rickshaw for this money for about 3-4kms distance!

I can still get my pants altered (increase/shorten length) which cost minimum $4 here!

I brought a box of 'Disprin' tablets on my last visit to India. There were 10 strips of 12 tablets each. The MSRP on the box was Rs. 35.20 and the chemist gave me the box for Rs. 30, without even asking for any discount. So each tablet costed me 25 paise.
You have body ache, mild fever, headache, migraine pain or even hangover from last night, just take two 'Disprin' tablets by dissolving in water and see the effect. Atleast that works for me:)
And here, if you have to buy even the smallest pack of that bloody 'Ramban Aushadhi - Tylenole (100 mg)', you spend minmum 5 to 6 dollars plus tax.

Now look at that.....you get 40 tablets in Rs. 10 and you get 10 tablets in Rs. 200.
