Personal opinion - Delhi 6 - comes nowhere close to RDB .... meaningful .. yes ... but could have been better directed ...... I still can't place the co existence of Ram Lila and the movie ......... Abhi sucks .... Sonam better ...
Depressing for wanna-return-home NRI s .... perhaps because it depicts reality .

RDB was a different genre. Perhaps Rakesh Mehra's best work so far. But I think he did pretty well with Delhi6 as well.
Maybe yes - but I sure wonder why none of the directors failed to re create the magic they did with Aamir in their movies ...
Farhan Akhtar - Dil Chahta Hai ...... and after that .... nothing
Ashutosh Gowariker - Lagaan ... and after that ... faded ..
Raykesh Mehra .... Rang De Basanti and after that Delhi6 failed to impress
makes one wonder if the success of these movies had more to do with Aamir then then directors themselves ....

Farhan Akhtar made good movies with Hrithik Roshan (LAKSYA) and himself (ROCK ON). Also Ashutosh' Jodha Akbar was very well made. Though you cannot rate them as high as those with Amir Khan, but they were fairly good.
I wasnt impressed with Delhi 6 though the promo looked appealing. The bandar was done very amaeturish and coincidence of AB everytime the bandar appears was not at all convincing. Wonder why he chose to keep quiet on each of those occassions...to prolong the suspense?? Sonam was good, Waheeda Rehman, Om puri et al were wasted.

these are my 3 fav. directors at present
I think Ashutosh's swadesh was brilliant. Jodha Akbar was okay. Farhan's Lakshya was brilliant. And "Don" was also very well made.
Rakesh OmPrakash's Delhi-6 was decent .. not awesome, but then "baby B" can't really act .. can he.
Did you watch Mani Ratnam's Guru or Yuva ? ........... a lot depends on the director .... in fact a majority depends on him alone ............. Sanjay Manjarekar for instance .
Delhi6 & Rang De Basanti .... world of difference ............ similar to Lagaan and Swades .
