As "Iknownothing" pointed out, you are asking strangers here to give YOU a personal reference. In the best of economic times that isnt going to happen. How can anyone give you a reference that doesnt know you?
Secondly - I notice your posts have many spelling and grammatical errors. Again considering that you are asking strangers to recommend or help you find a job, can you not 'put your best foot forward'??
Last - How do you know that "iknownothing" (as an example) doesnt work for THAT company? your arguing with him is in very poor taste. When you are in the market to find a job, always behave professionally towards EVERYONE you encounter. That person may be the one who holds your future in their hand.

I am not sure if you are aware of the hiring practices in Canada/Ontario.
No company will ever entertain you if you visit them directly (Remember that you are living in Canada which is saturated with qualified people). They have much better things to do.
The best chance is to get an insider to recommend you and that is like 99.99 % not going to happen (atleast if you only visit Cd). The chance that a CD is working in that company is like a one in a million chance.
I once referenced 3 or 4 people in the office that I worked (over a period of 6 years . Some of them, I put on hold for 2 years while trying to see what position would suit them the best, wait for the appropriate time (eg. when 2 or 3 people quit at the same time and we were looking for people to be filled in those positions).
I would also highly recommend you to look at other companies as well. I would have to agree that getting a reference in a company can be your best option to secure a job in this recession prone times.
Have you tried Sasketchewan? I have heard that they are hiring like crazy. It is also near alberta which would be doing well again in one or 2 years from now (when Oil prices start to climb).

No matter what other people say about u but I always like your comments.
Well , at the moment I m still in Quebec and hv enough time before applying other places, the reason I m choosing ATI because we are in same domain and I don’t need to upgrade my skill to get into that company as far as requirements.
I have already applied online on their web-site, I don’t know anybody in Toronto so beside Candiandesi there is no other alternative for direct reference ( but no LUCK) , losing faith on CD,s .
Next step will be to prepare all documents and go direct or post-mail and then will call HR direct as “iknownothing” mentioned
For now I will try all the options to get into ATI , if not then I hv other plans

Recruitment in bigger companies is a huge scam.. All their internal listings and external listings are for name sake..
Real recruitment is done by all the external recruitment firms and part of the proceeds kick back to the HR in some invisible way..
The current company i work for is a large telecom company and i must have applied for a number of positions and never got a call..
Only when a recruiter sent my resume did i get a interview and a job..
i have tired referrals for a number of positions to no avail which reaffirms my earlier statements..
I can tell u another thing company performance has nothing to do with recruitment.. it is all about budgets and open positions..
So my suggestion is to look for recruiters that do placement at ATI.. Surprisingly u will find a lot of CDs in this field..

-- When companies lose money, this is true in general : all finances are tight and hence the budget and hence the hiring freeze comes into effect!
