I got a job from Workopolis too. (not in IT)

Like any advertising, if your ad (resume) is not working - change it. And you have to learn to recognize ads from headhunters and those from legit companies. Headhunters do not neccesarily have positions they advertise. Sometimes they post ads to pad their portfolios.

Have you tried Eluta? http://www.Eluta.Com" rel="nofollow">LINK The difference is Eluta does not accept ads from headhunters and it is a search engine like google. They are slowly liking into career sites of major corporations and so you end up with results from actual companies. No need to post resume or anything. Very discreet for those looking to switch or move on.

Am IT and yes, Workopolis is sometimes effective. You got to be patient and smart enough to keep editing your Resume every day so that it is NOT filtered out when the recruiters run a search for the most recent job-seekers.

Yes ... I am from IT and there was another strategy I had used initially .... Check out your desired job profile ... collect 30- 50 matching openings from Workopolis ........ extract the common terms .... and plug them in your resume .....

When Employers search Workopolis , they also use some common terms to filter candidate profiles ... I feel Workopolis / Monster are a boon as they bring the employers and candidates at a common meeting ground , w/o needing to check 'n' avenues .

Loser,
I am really surprised.
My only guess for you not getting an interview call is this :
1. Not a technology that is in Demand like Lotus notes, Cobol, Main frame etc...
2. Putting the resume during Christmas holiday time.
3. Giving an address in USA.
4. Gramatical and Syntax errors in your resume.

Otherwise being in IT, you are bound to get calls from Workopolis for sure. Even if you did not get any call from the employers, you should have got tons of calls from recruiters who want to fill up their time sheet during the slack hiring season of the holiday season.

Peace by TK
