Most of the time at home is spent on Kids. Meal, Shower, Reading, Cartoons, Some Dance & Play time. Luckily they are in bed sleeping by 9:30. One thing that I learnt, if you don't keep them busy - they will keep you busy.

Tuesdays -
I am in Pool with 1.9 yrs old Son between 6 ~ 6:30. He just loves to go. Literally looks forward to jump in.
on Ice for myself beween 8:20 ~ 9:20.

Wednesdays -
UCMAS with my 5.10 yrs old Daughter between 6:30 ~ 8:30. As hchheda mentioned, I can give some credit to her improved concentration.

Thursdays -
She is in for Gymnastics between 6 ~ 7

Fridays -
She is in Pool between 6 ~ 6:30

you havent asked for weekends but
Saturdays -
Shopping time
Most of the Evenings are spent with 3-4 friends. They all have kids - so they are on their own.

Sundays -
Daughter is in pool between 12:30 ~ 1

Aashu,
Your OP asked as to how to spend the evenings wisely on a weekday and now the posts have turned to how to spend more time in the evening with your kid.
As far as my experience is concerned, If you prefer to cook a hot meal everyday and when you and your husband work miles apart but stay in the same house, you will not have quality time at all with your children.
To this end, I suggest the following :
1. Move your house near your place of work and let your husband have a long distance to commute.
2. Cook on weekends. Heat up and eat or try eating from outside.

The above 2 can increase quality time that you spend with your kid and you can show personal attention. Canada offers a lot of free / low cost things. Many mothers donot have the time to use these facilities.

Another option is to make your mother / mother in law visit for 6 months at a time. Hence the whole year is taken care of. Mothers / MIL can cook and walk the child to the daycare as well as teach them when they return home. Thus when you reach home, you can always be outside (shopping malls / rec. centres / swimming pools / late evening drop in's) + you teach your kid Indian culture. Again as you said in a previous thread, many organisations (like ROM) offer free / subsidised entry fees depending on some time of the year.
Again, It is all in our hands to make things happy. The Govt. is doing so many things for us to be happy in Canada. We have to seize the oppertunity to use it. I have seen that many Punjabi's in Brampton live on this single fact. They bring their parents to lend them a helping hand while they slog it out at work but then return home and still have lots of free time to be happy.

Hope this helps.

Peace

Good to know that parents can take out time for kids activities during weekday too....I would want that too if time and $ permit....lets see in future and hope for the best !

If I read between the lines, from the very first post here - and some posts from you over last one year, you tend to send a message that the worst thing you could have done is have a child - and this particular post almost confirms it.

For me, having a child within 3 years of marriage was the best thing that happened to us as a young couple. Not only did he bring us closer as a man and wife, but also gave us an avenue to pass evening in a much better manner than simply watching TV or reading light fiction!

There is so much one can do with young children and I am amazed at someone asking a question for 'what to do on weekday evenings'!
