Why do you people go to such a great Bank as ICICI, if you cannot repay? How dare you?
Agreed that their hidden charges are the highest in India as are their interest rates. Also that once you sign on the blank document, you do not get any attention or customer care thereafter. But the Bank does not forget you. It reminds you if you do not remember to repay the monies. I feel it is a kind gesture on their part.
True that at least 100 families come to grief weekly through ICICI. But remember that they are favoured by your own government. All your top officials and ministers are on their payroll. That is how they get away with real homicide. I admire ICICI for caring two hoots even for reluctantly-made Supreme Court comments.
In consideration of the number of suicides/murders of customers, the ICICI Chairman was recently honoured with a Padmasree. Let us hope and pray that he would do better in the years to come and would be conferred the Bharath Ratna. He can do it if he exerts himself a bit more. My prayers for his success!
Recently there was an article in The Hindu Businessline as to how the bank's goondas barged into a customer's home accusing him of loan default. The customer was in the midst of a domestic function with a number of guests. It appears that it was the bank's fault in not clearing his installment from his bank account even though he had enough money. We cannot understand how these banks send people without proper ID cards or proper authorisation from the banks' officers to intimidate customers. All that these henchmen carry is a computer print out mentioning the customer's loan and default amount. These and other similar banks do not want honest and promptly repaying customers from whom they can collect the loan and interests only, but "defaulting" customers from whom they collect a windfall.
