Come on guys, grow up.
If no one has anything further to add to this topic, why don't you move on?

For a Couple with 2 children (with wife not working), 60K is a comfortable min. salary . With both husband and wife working, you may want to earn atleast 80K.
Again it also depends on your education and the job that you were / are doing before coming to Canada.
For eg. if you are a clerk in a govt. office in India, you may find that you will be happy even lesser than the salaries that I ahve mentioned above. OTOH, if you are like a ENgineer who had 20 people working under you in India / Gulf, you bar may be much more above what I mentioned.
I hope that you are aware that a clerk and a CEO are measured in the same scale for immigration to Canada once your points are above the min. required for immigration. There is dignity of labour here and you will find that you will be treated in public places the same whether you are a CEO or a clerk (atleast externally).
Hope this helps and please put up more information so that we can help pass information in a better way

Peace

Sure, let's get back to the real post. I think the above comment is quite on the mark in terms of comfortable living for a family. Obviously, the expectations if you are in the IT sector are different and they are probably one of the highest earners in Canada, at least among people who have just started out in Canada. But for non IT areas, this makes a lot of sense.
