Besides commercial benefit, I was also looking for hidden agenda that USA may have.
USA is not the only one to be benefited commercially. Other NSG countries will benefit as well. If it was just a commercial issue, why the deal could not be approved at Vienna.
If it is only commercial issue, why can’t this deal is given to Iran or other countries? Why so much favour to India?

USA has been spearheading NPT for quite some time and India have categorically rejected every time. It just creates a feeling of double standards and nations that have signed NPT may feel betrayed and can back off the treaty. This can cause nuclear arm race. This is what I personally think

As for Pakistan not making a strong protest is because they just cannot based on their poor proliferation record.
I think this should clear some doubts.

Now that sounds like an answer.

Anyone who has serious interest in Nuclear deal should read Arun Shourie's articles posted on Indian express. These articles are incredibly informative and thought provoking,

This deal is most harmful to India and Indian interest but congress i.e. Sonia Devi is known for selling India for song.

I have always respected Arun's articles mostly when he uncovered corruption against AR Antuley, Bofors etc.
Don't forget he is closely associated with right wings. So I expect his opposition to this deal.
I will go through his articles and try to see other side of the deal.

I thought that the deal has been objected by Left wing politicians! Well, in spite of being right wing politicians ( I do not fully agree to this), he has very nicely unraveled the whole deal. Once you read his articles, may be you will have different opinion.

I would like to see this deal go on so we get to the bottom of it. However, there is always an agenda behind anything. "There is no free lunch". I knew a person from Puerto Rico very happily speaking how everyone is awarded a green card at birth and I said "you will be the next peacefully acquired state" The person got a bit offended.
Let me get back to the Indian nuclear deal and Pakistan clam protest about it. Pakistan would like to make India believe that it is a great deal so it is a pre-planned protest as well using reverse psychology to make the deal happen. It is like Oma bin Laden choosing the US president just by saying "Do not vote for Bush" and every one did.
Just go back in history, when US was just a friend with no hidden agenda. Us has obligation to its own territory and nation as any other country it will be childish to believe it is just a help.
US will never do such thing. Just look at Georgia was given training and everything but when it came the real friendship test, only meetings were headed by US.
I would love to see India getting into this deal so I can bring you al lback to this thread and remind you.
Hope this make sense.

Didn't want to comment on this but could not help myself ..... no wonder the poor Puerto Rican got offended .... he was getting a lesson on US morality from some one who would have broken at least half a dozen laws just to land in US (not a personal comment but a reflection of the people you represent- south asians) ......... i love it how everyone hates US as this big evil thing but then would give up anything to just go there.

Anyway coming back to the topic .... to begin with there is no free lunch .... US is NOT giving the technology to India for free. Right now globally India is probably the only country that needs this technology and is ready to pay for it. Also the volume is major factor ... US can sell at least 10 power plants to India and it would still have need for more .... no other country in the world (without its own technology) has such a need.

As for Iran ....... the issue is enrichment ..... which of course means that it does not have to rely on other countries for nuclear fuel for its power plants. But then if a country starts enrichment process it has to follow tougher IAEA guidelines as this enrichment process can also be used to make nuclear weapons.
