I strongly support the views expressed by others. this is not at a country for medical or paramedical professionals to leave their country and come to work here. Also, based on my personal experiences, I am saying it lot of frustration and depression ater coming here.

I am a physiotherapist from india wih a good clinical and academic experience for a long over there. But after coming here, the process of licensing is a nightmare. They give courses to study and then the exam which is again very expensive compared to US. Chances of passing are less in one attempt. Over and above, at the work place also the practice is so monotonous and what is being done here is hardly 50% of what we do back home. Most of the clinics are so badly equipped that it reminds of a rural hospital of India.

studying here for medicine costs double of what you spend in India. also the clinical exposure what you get in India is far above than over here.

I came here 2-years back, and within 2-months went back. Then I thought of giving a try again and now I am here for last 2-months, but again I have decided to go back for ever. I dont find any proud in calling myself a canadian if the country cannot provide a comfortable life.

Just to elaborate more on how bad the system is especially when it comes to Dentistry.

You need to give an Eligibity Exam ( like an competitive exam in India) Based on your score you can try for an admission in about 80 seats in Canada. New dentists coming in every and then the ones here before. So just think about the queue.

The exam is held 2 times a year. They had one in last May. My relative gave this exam. This is the best part. After they conducted the exam they send a letter to all candidates saying that someone had complained to the Examination Board that certain questions which were in the exam were published on some discussion forum. The examination board checked it and found it true and they will randomly go and take out the questions from the final score. So at the end after the examination was taken they went and took of some questions which obviously affects the score of every candidate.
I have never seen neither heard of anything like this before. Often questions / papers are leaked out but you either cancel the exam or re-do it. But becuase in Canada they do not want to spend the money and ofcourse who cares if someone score gets affected they randomly go and take some questions out.

What a pathetic system? Bottom line they don't care neither want forgein medical professionals to come and work here.

There was a big television program on CBC recently where they showed Doctors driving Taxis or working as a Cook and on the other hand Canadian government says they want Doctors.

I wish some day we could collectly take the Canadian government to UN Court and show the world what they are doing to the lives of new immigrants. Hopefully CanadianDesi.Ca is helping in someway.

I thought the purpose of this forum was to help people know what the truth is. Especially in Canada when you can hardly find the actual facts unless someone has gone through a situation. If we moderate views ( till the time they are not personal ) then the purpose will get defeated.
