all lapotps nowadays are ok to low quality (what else can u expect if they are priced from 500-900 with so many features)
Buy whatever you like, but buy a exteneded warranty with it bcoz u will need it.

Thanks for the inputs.
It is 250 GB (and not MB - A typo.).
Chittesh and Mahraj,
I am looking for a brand which generally has good quality parts and the least likelyhood of breakdown. I am looking at $699 +tax as my budget.
Also the best after service warrenty (free ones) laptops will get my nod of approval.
Sony's keyboard was too flimsy.
CD views / inputs appricated.
How does Dell and Lenovo (IBM) compare? Both are almost in the same price range and I keep hearing advt's in the Radio that Lenovo, even if thrown down / drenched with Hot coffee will still work. Is it true?
Peace

It all depend on the applications one would like to run on these systems before really deciding the budget etc.
I for one feel Toshiba being the best and leader in Laptop segment so would prefer to go with Toshiba.
Cheers Toshiba!
