Abel,
Due to recent US IT job outsourcing some of our Major Indian IT companies (Like Infosys,WIPRO,TCS etc) and Multinational Companies(Like IBM,CGEY,Accenture etc) are concentrating IT oppurtunities in Canada.
Due to recent Tax Courtship in California with US tax department Infosys is serously thinking about Canada as an potential business area
WIPRO atarted opearation in Windsor and TCS has office in Toronto,Ottawa and Montreal and they have tie up with CGI also
In last couple of months 3 of my friends came to Canada on work permit from some of those IT companies
I mean to say if you are in India and expecting your Canadian PR soon it won't be a bad idea to look for a position in those companies.Because of your Canadian PR they might consider you as an Onsite consulatant based in Canada so if your profile is good you might land here with a confirmed job
I know that Canada also thining about IT outsourcing to counties like India and China ...but even then to manage offshore team thay rneed onsite consultant
Another interesting thing is all of my IT desi firends in Canada so far never faced any problem in loosing job rather they use to tell ''It is difficult to get an IT job in Canada but once you get it it is difficult to loose"
Let me know if you need any other info
Thanks
:)

Thanks

thanks Ani, you really gave me a deep insight in the subject.

Actuall I am working in K.S.A now and will be coming to Canada in 3-4 months time. Also planning to concentrate in Datawarehousing field which I suppose ,will be a good break in Canada. Do you have any comment on that ?

Coming back to the actual subject of this thread, how do a person should set his resume of 9+ years IT experience in 1 or 2 sheets ( as canada dont prefers short Resumes always..). Hope you have something to guide me. I can mail my doubts to your personal email, if at all it wont be a problem for you.

able,
Are u now in USA?In that case you can still use the same format.I actually never changed my USA IT format resume and it was in fact a detail 4 page resume
If u still need any help send me your resume over
If you have a good exposure in DataWarehouse with project experience in USA you can post your resume with your contact details and your expected landing date in Canada over http://www.fernstevens.com/Itc.html
I personally know Fern Stevens very well so if she likes your profile I can give her a call

Thanks

Oh...Ani , I am not in USA, but in KSA(Kingdom of Saudi Arabia..scared? :) ).
I'm into Oracle based software application design, development, implementation, DBA and all and not yet explored Datawarehousing field well. I've decided to move totally into Datawarehousing, but not yet explored or experienced. Actually i was asking your suggestion on that. Do you have anything to tell me on Datawarehousing field in Canada like.. who is the pioneer in Datawarehousing or best job providing DW companies and all.

I will surely send my Resume to your personal email as I need your valid advice.

thanks Ani, you are really making me confident to take decisions. I really appreciate that. Where are you now ? in USA or Canada ?

warm regards,
Able
