You just got baby boy & already have some issues?
Any way CONGRATS & enjoy new phase of life!
michelle288 thanks for the tips it really works, but nurses at telehealth told me not to give new born baby water, but i know back home we do give water when baby has hiccups
mumdxbcan, i am so happy to have this baby - He is my angel - actually i dont find it as an issue but as a concern from a mum to see her baby suffers with hiccups.
Congrats on having an Angel.
Would like to mention that its strictly recommended that a kid less than 6 months on age should not be given water. Its not only in Canada but in India too. So please do not give the baby any water at least up till that age.
As for hiccups, burp the baby well after feeding. Hicupps are very common for a new born baby and will resolver by itself.
All the best, you are welcome to ask any questions regarding baby care.
Congrats on the baby. I guess it is your first. We had a baby in december last. Hiccups is very natural for babies to have. Always burp him after all feedings but still there is no garuntee he wont have hiccups. These hiccups trouble us more than the trouble the baby ;-). Infact our elders say that the babies appetite grows if he has hiccups.
Never give the baby water until he is 6 months old. My first boy who is 8 years and healthy had his first drink of water when he was 8 months. Till 6 months he was totally on mothers milk.
Enjoys the baby
millions of thanks guys for saving me from doing something wrong with my cutie angel. As per the nurse suggestions and yours i will stop to give him water onwards. And one more thing i want to share with u guys, the nurse told me to loosen the pampers and also to put a plastic spoon underneath his tongue to stop hiccups but that doesnt guarantee to stop the hiccups.
thanks again for the advice.
