Hi all ,
any one explain me how to trade in canadian stock market (its like india
) or something diff.
thanks for the time
stk
I would suggest you go thru discount brokers. All major banks deal in stock market. Open an account with them and you can buy and sell stocks online. Just shop around to get better deal on their service charges.
Thanks and regards.

I use Bank of Montreal Investorline for mutual funds investment. I can trade stocks in it too but I use US based accounts for that.
I use TD Water house for Canadian as well as American markets.

There are following choices
1. Banks such as TD, Scotia Bank, BMO nesbitt etc
2. Brokerage firms
3. Directly through smal brokers
All depends on your level of playing. If you are going for big play, BMO Nesbitt is ideal one. They are one of the largest stock research organization. You may use their expertize. However for small players, TD is really good choice and it is online. You may choose to buy or sell anytime online after monitoring carefully about the stock price movements.
Most US based online brokerage will open account for only US address holder. May I ask how you are managing that?
I was also wondering how you are handling the taxes on capital gains from US securities. I mean, is there any difference in dealing with canadian and US stocks?
I am currently in US. I have been trading US stocks through scottrade.com and tdwaterhouse.com. I am moving to Montreal very soon as a permanent resident. I am planning to continue my trading activities from there too.
Any suggestions or relevant websites are very welcomed..
