I have been watching cnn-ibn.. and IMO due coverage has been given to all players. The camera's went to the homes of most players and got first hand reports about their thoughts and comments.. also saw Team India's arrival in India live yesterday. A huge motorcade was organised for them right from Sahar International Airport all the way to the Wankade stadium. Crowds lined the streets and even shops for closed coz the shopkeepers were all on the roads waiting to see the Champions. The players on the other hand, braved the heavy mumbai rains and waved to fans atop an open roof bus that was arranged.

And what about Lalchand Rajput ... as a Manager he must have played some part. And he might not be appointed again.

It is amazing.
Pak had perfect plan for Dhoni & Yuvraj. They concentrated a lot on these two but totally ignored Gambhir.

Cant resist posting this. See the pictures on rediff. What a mockery. Players are pushed to the rear. Front row occupied by ministers and BCCI officials.

Some excerpts:

"In fact, the whole spectacle seemed like a well-organised political rally, with Board president Sharad Pawar, who is also the Union Agriculture Minister and a political heavyweight of the state, playing to the galleries in a speech that would not have been out of place at an election rally. "

Indian team on backseat ...taken for a ride..
They should not mind, they are laughing all the way to the bank !!!!!!

Players from metropolis are able to get into the eleven (and remain even when they are not performing), more easily than those from the districts. Between metropolis themselves, for obvious reasons an obese looking Ramesh Pawar is able to get in to the team more easily than someone like Badrinath who has performed brilliantly with India A umpteen times. Unless this parochialism is arrested and true talent unearthed, India is not going to perform consistently well like Australia. Hope Dhoni is able to do this.

Beg to differ!
Dhoni, Joginder Sharma, Srishaant, RP Sing are not from big cities.

Powar is a spin bowler who has done fairly well in ODIs. He was used as a replacement for Bhajji. As u saw, when Bhajji returned, Powar had to sit out. When there are zonal selectors (5 of them), parochialism is bound to occur. Badrinath is a good player no doubt. More with bat than the ball. IMO, we have enough players who can bat well.
