Hello everyone,
I have been thinking about it for a long time and I thought this would be a best place to find like minded people.
Idea/ Plan: I lived in Canada for 7 years and now in Seattle (not very far from Surrey,BC) and i have found out that lot of us have lots of clothes that we do not use anymore.
Some of us give it to Salvation army and some take it to India and distribute there. That what we also do depending upon what kind of clothes it is.
But still there is so much left with us that we do not want to give it to Salvation because we know that it would be of no use.... specially indian dresses sherwanis, Suits, saris etc. and everytime we pack our bags we have to leave clothes like that for next time because we have other important stuff to take with us (gifts etc.).
These clothes can be used effectively... I have been talking to lot of people in India itself, and every part of the country have such unfortunate kids, seniors, adults that might use these clothes.
What I am planning to do is that we need two types of people one who can volunteer some time collect these clothes at one location it could be multiple in number one in brampton, one in mississauga, surrey everywhere and than we have to look for people who are willing to take it with them to India. doesnot matter where they are going. As I said everypart have some institutions that might need these clothes.
For now I consider myself as one of the people who can collect clothes is there anyone who is willing to take it to india? I can come to Surrey Vancouver also to deliver that.
Any suggestions to make it better? No cash is required.. just unused items.
thanks.
