Hi,

I am little bit confuse if anybody can help.

I have a B.Com. degree from INDIA and I have a Payroll Administrator certificate from CPA. now I am thinking to do CGA but

1) I don't know how long it will take and
2) I could do it or not and
3) what is the procedure.

Get yourself evaluated by CGA first. The question of how much time you will take depends on it. The more higher level they assess you, less time you will take. Generally B.com from India will have to go through the whole proceess. There are six lavels, so consider atleast 3-4 years depending your time availability, preparations, determination etc

You will definately make it once you commit.

All professional cources need commitment, continuity and preservence.

Sanjiv,

I thought that CGA used to give level 3 exemption for B Com from India - atleast to me they did - and NOT on the basis of my CA (that is what they told me in year 2000)

Do you have latest information about exemptions given to CPA qualified professionals?

Hi Chandresh,

CPA qualified candidates registered for CGA after March 2003 are being asked to write 3 challenge exams in TX1, AU1, FA4( there is some choice to select some other subjects too i think ) and write PA1 exam to get CGA degree.

Thats right. I am also writing challenge exams. I have to write PA1 & FA4 complusory and two exam of my choice of of pace level. I would be glad if I can find my study partner.

The only reason I have been afraid of taking up CGA is - I can't study alone - never have, and never can. If you are willing and looking for a study partner, I am willing to get into the program!

Hi Chandresh, good to know that you are interested but don't get into course coz we could be studying together. By study partner I meant that someone to look for moral support or discuss problems where I (or you) get stuck. I don't intend to do full time study with my study partner. Somehow that never worked for me. Your timings or mine will not match all the time. Right !!!! So join the course when you want to....:-) . All the best.
