I see a lot of job postings in the Jobs section by a Michigan based computer consulting company called AIM-CC. They claim to offer training and placement for newbies and experienced IT Pros.

Has anyone been to their training or have dealt with them? I would be really interested in knowing your experience.

They filed for my H1 and I went through training & certification in Microstrategy at their office in Detroit.I will finish my three years in November 2007 and will join them after that.

In our group of 4 plus another four who came from outside working for different companies the first candidate got placed in the first two weeks.

The other two have just come now to Detroit from their home positions in US and their marketing is going on at the moment.

From my association with them as far as immigration and marketing they are quite transparent and good.

Since I came from a IT background my compensation was satisfactory on paper at the moment.(The taste of the pudding will be realised only after I join them) But my associates are content with them.

From what I hear they have about 140 consultants at various locations in the US.

I hope I have answered your questions.

From what I hear now is that their marketing team is out of focus and not able to bridge the gap between newbies and the client's requirements.

Also this business is like a share market when you get into the market when the tool itself is doing well.It is like when the market is doing well lot of folks jump into the fire.

for eg there is a downward spike for a particular tool / technology even though you may be the best person you will have ahrd time getting a job.So a lot is dependent on the timing you as a candidate are trying to get into the market.

I know for one particular product market was good in the initial part of summer and now people are finding it tough. What was clikcin gin two weeks for a random candidate is now taking upto 3 months on the bench.

Yeap, I agree with you. I see tonnes of new consulting/staffing companies popping up everyday. you can see the job board on this site for example. I guess the market in the US has not changed. Since there are not enough H1B visas, there is a shortage of IT professionals so everyone is looking at Canada for supply of manpower(the best example is Microsoft's announcement to setup a center in Vancouver). You will see that most of the companies are looking for Canadian citizens so that they can sponsor TN visa which is comparatively easier to get.

I just wanted to update the thread with regards to Aim Computer Comsulting.

Lot my friends are on the bench and they have started marketing themselves through other desi consulting companies.

Market is very soft at the moment and now from what I hear as there is a shortage of H1s in the market even TCS,Satyam,Wipro,Infosys have started looking at manpower from these desi consulting companies as these people have abundant folks on TN visas.

All the jobs were these desi consulting shops were making money now have started getting converted to regular salaried jobs as well. So from what I am understanding there is a shortage of IT manpower but nobody wants to pay the big bucks as well.

I have started hearing stories from my freinds who say that companies do not mind candidates having a long learning curve at their site but under no circumstances want to feed these desi body shoppers.
