TV channels are reporting that a jeweller who owns the shop at the ground floor was making structural changes to his shop. The speculation is that he may have damaged the columns. He (name is Jain) was doing it without proper notifications. Someone in the building complained to the Municipal Corporation about him just an hour before the collapse. They showed him on the tv being escorted by police. He was trying to assualt the cameraman filming him.
