Anybody know that if someone apply for Maternity benefit, that person's Bank A/c have to have less balance ? mean if someone has amount in her Bank Account she does not get Maternity befefits ?

Maternity benefits are related to the # of work hours you put in prior to your maternity leave. I dont think it has anything to do with your bank balance.

It is included in the Employment Insurance benefit. The only requirement is certain number of working hours. It has nothing to do with your bank balance.

There is no link between maternity benefits and bank balance.

The basic principle, In canada all the benefits are linked with your earnings (current or msot recent) and not your assets. In other words, a millionaire will be entitled to same amount of benefit as new immigrants, if both are having same earnings per week before availing the benefits.

So financial position does not impact govt benefits. It impacts only the credit reports, loans and mortgages.
