Hi,
I am looking for some information on jobs available for IT project Managers in Canada. What are the prospects? will PMP certification helps in getting job there? Is this right field to pursue in Canada?

Currently I am working as Project manager in India. I have total 7 years of experience with strong education(BE electronics + MBA). Wish to check opportnities in Canada in Project management field.

CD's from IT industry , please share your knowledge on this and overall experience in terms of IT industry in Canada.

Once you land here, you should be willing to forget your previous credentials for a limited time, and try to gain understanding of work culture here. You seem to be having good background to pursue career in IT PM, so I suggest you to go for PMP... that s a great value addition.

Can you please give little insight about IT industry in Canada. Also, which place is preferred for IT jobs (Toronto/Calgary or others)

About preferred place(!), it has various factors depending on an individual, so I am not in position to say anything regarding this. If you are flexible enough, then land any place of your initial liking... do the job search and then move there!

Believe it or not there is a good demand for IT PM's here.
But if you land from India depending on your luck you will either get a PM job or you will start from scratch which means an entry level job in IT, or call centre or even Walmart job. so its luck and type of experience (type or projects, type of clients etc) you have.

Look at workopolis.ca and moster.ca for PM jobs and see if you have done similar work

IT market is hot in Canada now a days!!

Apply for job on the job sites and agencies and you should find something as long have you have good experience and communication skills.
