Sachin crossing 15,000 runs

Yes, he made it. However I would like to mention some interesting numbers about Sachin. Eventhough most of the people, including some on this board, were quick to say that Sachin is not playing well and he should be dropped from the team, the numbers are still with him.

When Sachin crossed 10,000 runs it was his 259th match.

When he crossed 15,000 runs it was his 387th match.

Multiplying 259 with 1.5 gives 388.5, so actually he took one to two matches less to complete 15,000 runs.

Congratulations to Tendlya!!!

When will Tendulya and Big B retire ?.

God Save Indians if these ICONS keep playing/performing for numbers than results. If Tendulya would have won single handedly the World Cup for us then it would have been a different story.

Now a days Tendulya picks and chooses his opponents and play grounds to keep his record alive. But History will show that both Tendulya and Gavaskar were not great as they were supposed to be. May be Tendulya is planning to play till his son is ready to plan for India direct. Then he would become coach of India, followed by President of BCCI and then a politician representing Shiva Sena ?.

You play to Win and Not for records. Any day Kapil Devs 175 in 1983 WC and his face back to ball catch to remove Viv Richards will remain the greatest moment of Indian cricket.

Jeese !, if you watch Big B in J B Joom you would realize it is time this guy retires. How many more irrelevant roles and so called performance(s).

I am not sure about Sachin, as he's still capable of playing, but I strongly feel about a joker named Amitabh Bacchan. This guy has completely forgotten acting and makes a mockery of himself in each film, ad that he acts(?) in. Does this Amitabh guy really knows what the general public talks about him? Have you ever read or watched his present day interview? He talks like he's flying in the air, so proudish, and so full of hollow air.

It was a long time ago, after his last best movie 'Hum', that I renounced him completely. He's not the Amitabh Bacchan of 70s. He's no more a super star. May sanity prevails upon him and he retires gracefully.

What ...... he picks and chooses his opponents ....... well then he has attained the status of god ....... his record has no comparison .... in one dayers he has 41 centuries and the second person on that list is Sanath Jaisurya ... with 25 ..... Sachin did not make these 41 without talent ... of these 41 centuries he has made 16 in India ... so if you were to remove those ... he would still be highest century maker in the world !!!! ... think about it ...

That is exactly the point. If his 41 centuries did not win tournaments for India then what is the use of those centuries. As they say it is not how long you lived but what you accomplished in those years.

Michael Jordan is remembered not for his sportmanship but how many times he led the Bulls for Championship victories. The same applies to Tiger Woods or even our own Vishwanathan Anand. Kapil Dev would not have scored so many centuries or taken as many wickets but he mad team India win tournaments. That is what counts in team sports. In soccer you get traded if you cannot win tournaments for eg: Beckham.

Do we have an option ?.

By that logic even Brian lara is not a great batsman ...... going by that logic then India has not had a cricketers other than Kapil who is a great player......as for accomplishment ..... well his record says it all .... cricket is a team sport and needs input from all players.....

People will Grow up but you need to change your Logic. These two or anu other Batsman, can not win you Tournaments. Batsman can give you Matches here & there but not everytime. We remember Kapil as Great Achiever. You see the reason?
I am not a Great Fan of Sachin - but he should be praised when he deserves. And again, Don't look for Hero. Cricket is a Team Game. And Understand the Game - Bowlers will give you Cups.

These two don't play Team Sports. Sachin would have won a lot - but he is in Team Game.
