My 2c on this.
I read in a Rediff article yesterday that abt 60,000 IT folks have moved back to India. Some CDs may disagree with this. If so many of them have returned, there should be a reason. Since 2003 couple of my friends have returned to India from Canada. They don’t have any regrets, so far. Their kids are having a great time (no cross culture issues), weather is hot always, unlike here. As someone else said, work here for some time, see how things are, get the passport and OCI, move to ME or Far East or back to India as a Manager and make good money (tax free sometimes).

When our delhi's chief minister Shiela Dikshit pointed about this it became a major issue in parliamnet . This is what our f****** politicians look out for . If someone says the truth they just can't take it and try to make it a political issue. The solutions for this issue would be to develop more cities in india of the lesser states so that they don't migrate to other cities . Now a delhite like me has to leave my own place and settle down somewhere else ....
I am not SC/ST/OBC but yes they are taking our jobs( goverment ) and most importantly seats in college/ schools . Well no private companies have reservations for SC/ST/OBC but from next year 50 % of the seats will be reserved for this class in colleges and school . Welcome to India for those who are thinking to come back here ..... where do u think ur children will study .. ???

Rather than that I would say ... I dont want my next generation to Compete on Uneven Ground & get nothing but Frustration. Competetion got to be Fair. Why would someone have advantage just because of his Cast? What did My Child do wrong to compete with a Child who anyways is Rich but starts with an advantage being SC/ST/OBC.
If you still want Reservations - get it based on Family Income. I dont mind if Poor Child is at advantage in competetion. He needs all possible help to make life easier & better. But not SC/ST/OBC.
I was no Bright Student Myself. I dont expect my Kids to be. I know they will have hard time fighting for that remaining 50%.

Why only New Delhi?
and Why only 'Unreserved Compartment'? Do they understand the Difference?

hi there .....
ya u r rite DIO lot of people are coming back for the Indian IT market , but most of them land in night shifts .... yes salaries are good but work culture is not same as abroad . The jobs which we get are not quality jobs ... the final control is in the hands of a firang only .... I dont have much idea about Programmers but for networks there are mostly support jobs dat too in night shifts . ALL BPO's work at night as they have to match the US counterpart timings . Even I have seen software engineers working in nights as they have conference calls scheduled in US/ CANADA. I also worked in nights shifts for almost 2 yrs and still recovering on my health.
Even if a person is ready to compromise on his health wats the guarantee he would be able to buy all the luxuries here ??? beause of high family income the real estate is also on a boom . A 3 bedroom flat in gurgaon which used to cost rs 20 lacs like 4 yrs back is now 60 lacs . in delhi any south delhi flat is around 50 lacs , noida is also nearby around 40-45 lacs . Inflation is on all time high ..... so what u guys are thinking if salaries are good then expenses have also tripled accordingly .....
Ash_canada you have given me lot of confidence ..... thanks a lot I have sent u an e-mail please reply back on that .... as i have some more concerns ...
Dragoman,
We've gone down this road before (at least a zillion times) of trying to prove which country is better to live in. Its of no avail, you're not going to convince anybody otherwise. It all boils down to individual perspective and people who love Canada will continue to stay here and people who love India will either keep talking about moving back or eventually move back.
Sounds like what you're looking for is validation of your decision to move. And although its a natural instinct, its also dangerous because you start off asking for an opinion but only digest what you had pre-determined to.
A better approach would be to review the "factual" posts on this forum and make a informed decision yourself. Ask questions about specifics, and I would rather you search the forum for them first because most likely, they've been answered before.
Lastly, research will help, however the true test is taking the plunge and coming here to test the waters. Its a big move, however there's no way around it.

Are you there?
Bluelobster ,
I have already done my research on canada and i know all the pros and cons ....
even if we discuss the issue ( Zentillion ) times its less .... Why its less becuz the time never stops and accordingly things change .
20 yrs back no body would have said India is better , 10 yrs.. yeah we can stay in India and NOW people are coming back ......
We need to know these changes on constant basis . so when we immigrate the image should be clear . I am talking Vice- versa . (India-Canada-India)
My idea is very clear in this discussion to know the present scenario of both the countries mainly in job front and lifestyle .
may be after 2yrs i would again initiate a similar forum to know wat;s going on there and tell people what's going in India .. If there is another way to do this please let me know !
lastly , I guess you are the administrator of this forum so I really appreciate your work for bringing people together on a common discussion .
