SHANGHAI, China — Chinese stocks slipped 3.6 percent on Tuesday as investors sold shares in blue chips amid from regulators against speculative trading. But mid-sized Bank of Communications surged 71 percent in its Shanghai debut.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,900.56, down 3.6 percent. The Shenzhen Composite Index fell 2.6 percent to 1,097.94.

Stocks jump high, Shenzhen index breaks record

Mainland stocks saw another day of big jump today after yesterday's surge, moving out of the shade of the steep slump on Tuesday.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened higher and closed at 4,048.29, up 62.25 points or 1.56 percent from the previous closing.

SHANGHAI (XFN-ASIA) - A-shares in Shanghai and Shenzhen closed mixed with concerns emerging about possible fresh interest rate hikes following recent central bank comments, dealers said.
They noted that banks and metal stocks in particular came under pressure.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A- and B-shares listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed down 18.04 points, or 0.45 pct, at 4,030.26 after moving between 3,999.17 and 4,052.10.

You guys know something the last time the CAD was this high against the US the INR was past Rs 40 /CAD. Now it is hardly scratching Rs37/CAD. Looks like the INR is getting stronger. Likewise with the USD.
Of late financial pundits instead of keeping track of the 500 point levels are logging records at every 100 point level for China.
HONG KONG
Most Asian markets advanced Tuesday as Chinese investors lifted stocks to new records, shrugging off authorities' efforts to cool market.
Stocks in South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines also rose to new highs.
China's stock markets forged higher despite moves Friday by the central bank to raise interest rates and reserve requirements. The Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.9 percent to 4,110.38, breaking above 4,100 for the first time. The Shenzhen Composite Index climbed 1.4 percent to 1,198.41, also a record high.

The benchmark CSI 300 Index, which tracks yuan-denominated A shares listed on two domestic exchanges, added 68.46, or 1.8 percent, to close at 3,938.95 today, rising to a high for a third straight day.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which tracks the bigger of domestic stock exchanges, added 1.5 percent to 4,173.71. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which covers the smaller one, gained 2.1 percent to 1,223.98.
