Its strange, I assumed CDs are good bargain hunters and I will get some feedback from some CD for Magic Jack. Looks like I will have to be the first one to try it (and admit it..:D ).

$40.00/year for unlimited calls US/Cananda to & from India is a good deal. Upon renewal, it becomes $20.00 per year. I dont think anyone has that kind of pricing currently.

Will wait 1 more day before ordering. ($15.00 shipping within canada is a bit of pain though :p ).

If there are any CDs who are already secretly using it ;) ..please let me know your experience, publicly it will be better for the whole board to read, else you can even PM me.

I've been using Magic Jack since last six odd months, love it. Love it even more when I don't find a bill in the mail at the end of the month.

It also makes a great gift for people in India. On my last trip I bought four, and everybody was just flattered.

I didn't know they have started shipping to Canada as well.

I wasnt wrong afterall...:D
Thanks for your comments and opinion. I believe they just openend the canada shipping office recently. But $15.00 for local canada shipping is a TAD too high..hope it will come down soon.

I am thinking of buying a couple of them and distribute them to family members. I want to get rid of searsconnect if possible. Your comments help me decide faster.

Their website says calls anywhere in USA/Canada. So for India calls- is it going to be useful only to people in India that want to call someone in USA/Canada or useful for people in Canada too that want to call India?

Thanks,

Their customer service is amazing as well. I damaged the jack (stepped on it) and they sent me a replacement free of charge.

I live in the US and use http://www.freecallplanet.com" rel="nofollow">LINK as my long distance provider. I get an option of getting US numbers for any five India numbers, saves me the hassle of dialing the access number and then manually dialing the number I need to call.

All I need to do is to save those US numbers in my cell phone with corresponding names, and I can make a call with least buttons pressed.

Never used searsconnect, so can't comment on it. Was a customer of g3telecom throughout my stay in Canada and can't complain.

Hope this helps!

Yes, calls are free anywhere in US and Canada. You can send one to your family in India and they can call you or any other number in US/Canada for free.

If you are using it here, you will need to buy credits to make calls to India, the rates are not all that great.
