HI everybody
Just wanted to share my personal experience with you.First of all let me thank all the fellow desis who guide new comers like us.I landed on spetember 9 and it went of smoothly and the staff at the airport was so helpful and polite.I was well prepared with my landing list and other details.The next day went for my Sin and i have been very lucky cos just a week i relaxed and after that i have been working.
I am still amazed by this country and till date dont have anything to complain about.Many times i really thank my stars that i didnot go thru any hassles.I am very happy to be here .

Congratulations HB to sail through. Just make sure you do not loose any PR related papers ( keep it safe as it is quite a hastle to get back) and do not provide SIN no. everywhere. Always ask first, if it is required by law. and cover with hand while keeying in the PIN numbers for debit cards. Do consider tenant insurance in case you are renting.

Hi congrats on smooth landing ..it is good to see someone so positive, as most of the time people are complaining only ..just hope there are many more people with similar positive experience and come out and share it..will make others who did not have that great an experience also feel better.
and do take the advise given by Mercury seriously it is very relevant sand important.

Hi. Glad to see you're settling well here in Toronto.
With regards to Tenant Insurance, any major bank and insurance company will offer it to you.
To take advantage of a discount, try and couple the insurance with car insurance if you have and/or try visiting the bank you currently do business with and they will likely give you a better quote. I find RBC to be a good company to deal with when it comes to insurance (just from my own personal experience).

I think what Mercury was referring to is "Content insurance". It will insure all your belongings.
