In the 1st innings, chasing 328 runs Tendulkar scored 63 runs, but left the crease when the team had hardly registered 125 (for 4) runs on the board. Now it is a typical Tendulkar let down situation having to knock off 350 odd runs to win the game with 1.5 days play remaining. Being one of the greatest batsmen of all times compared to the likes of Richards and Bradman, he really owes it to the country to guide the team to victory till the last run need to be scored. If not always he should do it atleast once in a while and not always follow a not so good example of his illustrious predecessor who scored 36 not out in full 60 overs in a World Cup match in England.
you can come to india and watch the match
just joking...
Tendulkar is a very good batsman but he is not lucky for india...
it s been a long time since his performance had resulted in an indian win....
tomorrows game is any ones guess....
Team india, like always might have decided that they are not going to make 300 odds runs in a day s play and that too hampered by bad light....
so they are going to make use of defence as the first line of play....
this will result in the loss of early wickets and then gone....
but luckily they survive the first session of play then they will think they have a chance and begin some agressive play but it will fall short....
i feel so bad to say this but i give a 1:100 chance of an indian victory
I would say I was fortunate not to witness the famous Indian 'spectacular' debacle and had sound sleep instead.
A traditionally strong batting line has almost consistently been bailed out by tailender's batting. Time for Dilip Vengsarkar and co to go with 10 bowlers and wicket keeper in the next match, send the complete top order back to india. Is there a need for a captain?...
...happy new year fellow CDs..

The problem with Indian cricket, clinging on to mere stats, instead of what result it really brought about. Remember, that Boycott was dropped after scoring double century or so, but was not playing for the team's cause.

Agreed, but Jaffer did apply himself in the 2 innings. Drop Sehwag, not Jaffer for the next match. Make him sit out a few matches. His attitude is being questioned, and he has been taking his place for granted for too long. Something must be done before he goes the Kambli way.
Gambhir instead of Sehwag would be the only change I see in the next match.
Ganguly is making his comeback (although in this 2nd innings he struggled a bit), Laxman showed a lot of character, Sachin played a fluent knock in the first innings, but got out for a duck in what seems to have been the ball of the day, and Dravid was the victim of bad umpiring in both innings.
You have to give credit to the South African bowlers - esp Ntini. When he bowls like he did, there is not much anyone can do.
