Hi
With Quebecors (not Quebec) getting the status of an independent nation within United Canada, I think we should start working towards an independent indian state within United Canada(whatever that means). With India becoming a major source of immigrants to Canada, I think we are going to have enough people to support the claim and of course none of the political parties can ignore us.
Let us Unit under the United Canada !!!!
T - Mera Bharat within United Canada Mahan

That is where the problem is and who will want a united India within united Canada. Even before you start on that topic people will start with united Tamil Nadu, united Karnataka and various geographical locations.
I'll prefer the southern ontario can integrate with USA -NY and Michigan in terms of jobs, education and still retain its relationship with Canada for its healthcare.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

If someone wants a separate "india" in Canada, then why did they leave the real India in the first place??
This is another example of "we want the money and benefits of a western country but nooooooooo we dont want to be exposed to the rest of it"

Garvo,
Why not? If the french speaking people can have a nation within united Canada, why not a hindi speaking canadians have a nation within Canada?
Afterall, we are canadians (united).

ps: My objective of bringing up this topic is to get a feel of what each of us think about this. The issues that were raised while making quebecor a separate nation can be applicable to Indians a few generations down the road. So, why not?
