Never been to India, but many, many many years our Family from Africa have been sending money to Orpanage, Girls Hostel in Poona.
My Grandfather once visited the hostel and about 18 yrs ago my parents visited them with a big amount of donations.
My wife and I are planning to visit this Hostel in Winter time.

Please keep me in the loop if you find a network cos I'd like to share photos etc.

WB,

I ask because I have lived all my life in Pune prior to coming to the US. Pune born and bred.
Completed my schooling at St Vincents (Vincentians rule !!!) and then Bharati Vidyapeeth. Was just curious who else here is from Pune.

I have a question for you(or anybody else who can tell me!).
What is the best way to get from Mumbai airport to Pune? I have taken a cab from the airport and then had to catch a bus from someplace in Mumbai which takes you to Pune Station. I know there are a couple of different places in Mumbai from which buses leave. Overall it was a hassle with luggage.

Is there a better way to go to Pune directly from the Mumbai airport?
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

That sure is a pain in the Ass way of going to Pune after a 16 hrs flight.

There are many companies that offer direct service between the airport and Pune. Depending on the rush and the number of passengers they may use a mini bus or an SUV like a Qualis, Sumo etc. Also regular luggage is included in the fare.

For the last 3 or 4 times I have used these guys

They will drop you off anywhere in Pune straight to your destination and are pretty good. What I do is email them with all details like name, flight of arrival, time of arrival, destination in Pune etc and they are there with my name on a placard while exiting Mumbai airport.

Ofcourse they also offer reverse service ie pick up from your home in Pune and drop you to Sahar airport.

Admins : I have absolutely nothing to do with this company and have only used their services so im not advertizing for them just helping a fellow CD.
