He must have had plenty already. Isn't it a prerequisite that you must be a crook of ill repute to be able to "practice politics" in India?

Karnataka CM’s son caught in hotel brawl
Friday October 27 2006 00:00 IST
BANGALORE: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s teenaged son Nikhil was at the centre of a controversy with allegations of his involvement in a brawl with the staff of a hotel in the small hours on Thursday, in which he sustained injuries.
Nikhil, a college student, has alleged that the staff of Empire Hotel beat him up following an altercation over their refusal to serve food to him and two others, Banglaore Joint Commissioner of Police Bipin Gopalkrishna said.
However, the hotel, in its complaint stated that three ‘‘unidentified persons’’ came there and ransacked it after the staff refused to serve them food in the early hours of Thursday.
‘‘At 4:15 am three people came to the hotel and asked for food. Three of our workers sitting outside the hotel said that we have nothing to offer you. They then hit the workers with beer bottles. They were drunk. When our workers started fleeing they caught them and beat them up,’’ Juniz, general manager of the hotel, said.
Neither Juniz nor the hotel management named Nikhil in its complaint to the police.
Nikhil has alleged that his car was damaged in the incident. ‘‘Both the complaints are being investigated,’’ Gopalkrishna said.
Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital medical superintendent Rajiv Shetty said three persons, including one by the name Nikhil, were given treatment as outpatients in the hospital but he was not sure if he was the chief minister’s son.
‘‘The three came with the history of assault,’’ Shetty said, adding, the injuries were ‘minor in nature’. Youth Congress workers later held a protest outside the hotel, demanding action against Nikhil

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
Freinds,
This is just a goodwill gesture from Hyundai Corp to the govt of Tamilnadu. They recently committed a billion dollar investment for the phase expansion for which the present Govt in TN has provided them adequate land and other infrastructure required for the same. So this is just a token of the Goodwill Gesture.
The partronage Hyundai enjoys with the present ruling family is obvious and needs not further breifing. It was the late Murasoli Maran who brought them all the way to Chennai just to settle scores with Maruti Udyog (Suzuki). He was the Industrial Minister then. The then state govt headed by the same CM awarded Hyundai Engineering & Construction who was virtually a new entrant with relatively unknown credential thru TIDCO reawarded them the construction contract for TIDEL PARK the prestigious IT park of Chennai and so on... may be its seems Hyundai is in need of another break in Construction so now the same group is talking of TIDEL 2 expansion project. It happens and this is part and parcel of Indian Social life. We need to get feel proud and happy with whatever little they pass it on to the society...
