I am looking for :
During this Diwali and on other parties that we throw - a lady who could help in kitchen to warm up food, refill dishes and general help throughout, including may be cleaning dishes during and after the party. Minimum period is 4 hours. Can pickup from and drop at a subway station if needed. The lady can be anyone - Asian, European, whatever, but someone who has idea about Indian food and cooking.
On a regular basis, either weekly or alternate week, a lady or two to clean our house. Payment can be on the basis of hours or fixed amount per month.
Can anyone who is already using such services recommand anyone, or even if not using himself/herself, but knows someone who could provide such services, help us??
We live in Thornhill/Concord - at Hwy 7 and Dufferin.

nothing Relevant to OP, but welcome back Mr. Chandresh:-)
Thanks RBO - however this is one of the reasons I went away. I found people spending a lot of time in discussing things that are not relevant on a public discussion board, but never responding to questions that might help a fellow desi - the very reason this web-site was started for.

I have seen many flyers people put up at the mail boxes situated at the end of the street and you may find from local house cleaning persons. You may also look for international students of local community college, of Indian origin who usually work part time to earn extra bucks. I have seen most of the nearby grocery shops and restaurants employing them and paying cash wages. They will be happy if you pay 10 or 12 $ per hours for such work. It will only suits to the students living nearby.

A Delhite in Toronto
In this age of high unemployment, it is very easy to find such people in Kijiji. However, it may be tough to find a lady with an Indian sense. If there are any colleges near your house, for sure some Desi students will respond to Kijiji advt..
Just as a FYI, during the recession of 2008/09, I placed an advt in Kijiji for a helper to move the house for 4 hours at $ 10 an hour. Around 25 people replied within 2 or 3 hours.
I am hearing that Canada is now in the same state as 2008/09, so you will get lots of people !!
