I was walking around the Squareone Mall in Mississauga the other day & a pig with spectacles approached me. He asked me if I was new to the country & when I told him that I was a month old, he took over me. He started telling me how difficult life was in Canada especially for new immigrants and how difficult it was to get job etc etc. I kept quiet and kept listening to him as he started his struggle story in Canada, how he had worked hard & come up in life in Canada. I asked him as to what he did & he told me that he was a Call centre employee but he was doing that only because he wanted to concentrate on his business. When he mentioned business, I asked him as to what his business was and he told me that he was having a business in Cosmetics & various other intresting products. He told me that he was having some vacancies for people who were go-getters, hardworkers etc etc and if I was interested he will check it out with his partner & call me or have his partner call me on sunday evening after 6 pm. He told me that he wanted to be fair & would ask his partner to call me so that there is no partiality. I told him that that sounds intresting & he told me that there was a Tim Hortons inside the mall & we rather go inside and have some coffee as he was tired doing his business. Okay i said. He bought a coffee & pating me ont he back told me " You are in the right place at the right time - Luckily ". I told him that i will pay for my coffee and he told me that it was no big deal as it was all paid by his Company. Right through the coffee as he was again starting to advise, I asked him " Is it Quixtar or Amway ". His face went red and the lion in him became a meeky cat. It purred not really like the one in India. Here it is a excellent system of bww etc etc, I waited for him to finish his coffee & told him Thank you for the coffee. I will contact you if i am interested.
Little did the pig know that one his quixtar people had done this same drama a couple of months before to my friend who was new in town.

Mumbai Maazi Ladki ...
To continue on the old thread.
I have a friend who contacted me a month back asking if he could come to my house to discuss about a business plan. I knew it was BWW but since he was a friend, I could not refuse him.
He came with his head today and did a 2 hr. seminar about BWW/ Quickstar.
This is the essence of what he said.
0-Devote 8-10 hrs. a week.
0-Start by buying a kit for around $225
0-Buy products worth $250. he said that quikstar products are 20-32% cheaper than + I get $7.50 for every $250 I spend. So this would be $72 savings a month.,
0- He told me that I can save 3 cents for each litre of gas in Esso station and since I spend $600 a month on Gas, I felt that I could save a lot.
0- He asked me the dish washer that I use and I told him that I buy 750 ml for 99 cents. He told me that Quikstar's dishwasher was 67 cents.
0- He told me that if I make 6 people as francise below me then I would earn 9% comission on each of their $250 spent and then 18% to the next level of francisie and 25% to the next level after which I will be cut off.
I initially liked the idea as I spend $3000 to $3500 monthly on Gas, Groceries, Vegetables, Internet / phone, ELectronic items, Cloths, shoes etc.. and I honestly felt that if the middleman (retail stores) were eliminated and I were to purchase directly from Quikstar, I would benefit a lot. So I asked the person who gave the semeinar a list of product with prices that Quikstar offers so that I could decide as to how much I save. He told me that Quikstar never has that in public. He then went on to say that if I have a computer with Internet connection he can show me the website of Quikstar. I did have a computer and so allowed him to show me. He got my personal details and entered in on the computer and clicked NEXT. The next page was registration / payment details and he asked me as to how I was willing to pay for the registratiom. I told him that I have to check the prices as to how much I save before I enrol. On hearing my words, he suddenly turned sarcastic and told me that he already told me everything that I needed to know and once again asked me as to how I intend to pay for it. Once again I refused (with information taht I got from CD). He was really angry this time. He told me that even though Quikstar had higher prices, it was worth it as I would easily save $2700 in 2 years by spending just $250 a month. He gave me an example that even if walmart was to give me $50 reduction for every $250 that I spend, I would get just $1200 in 2 years. Once again I refused. Now he got in the website in his account and showed me the prices. Everything was so costly ( I just saw it for a min.). He again gave me some websites and asked me to look into it. He fixed up another meeting at Sunday 2:00 pm and told me to be ready with 4 people. He told me that I should NEVER tell them it is Quikstar meeting but only that it was a business oppertunity.
My request to CD's. How can I tell this guy that I am not interested in Quikstar in a professional way. Also Does any one have a list of prices of Quikstar products? (I just saw the prices for a min, and closed the website. It is password protected). or on the otherhand do any CD advise me to pay the required fees and enter into Quikstar?
He told me that Esso give me a 3 cent rebate for each litre of gas. A local petrol station near my house gives me 2-3 cents less than Esso. So I can use this example for Gas.
Positive discussions encouraged.
Thanks in advance.

Go to http://www.quixtar.com/ and click on shop categories or shop brands. I do not know if this member price or it is something offered to general public.
There is a blog that claims Quixstar products are more expensive than Amazon

To continue my old post.
The Quixstar people came to my home today for the appointment that they fixed last week. They had brought one of their head who was a fantastic talker (and Gujju by the way). He spoke at length for 2 hours blabbering. His main points were this (Note how he changes his statement and contradicts many other statements)
0- It is fantastic oppertunity for you to retire.
0- It disables shopping frenzy as you can set a fixed sum to shop
0- Any one who refuses to buy Quixstar products canot be your true friend
0- Only Quixstar people will come and help you in times of personal need
0- you save 30-70% on a product distributed by Quixstar than buying it in retails
(at this time I told him about Quixstar Diapers which is 42% more costly than Amazon.com)
0-he said 1/3 of the products are costlier than retail. 1/3 same price and 1/3 less than retail
0-Donot look at the money saved. Look at the big picture
0-It is a good business for people without any guts ( I Told him that I did not have any guts. If I had said that I had a lot of Guts, then he would have told me that it is only with Guts that we can succeed
0- He said that US/ Canada recession would be the worst that Man had ever seen and that without this business we would be on the streets
0- we donot work for any one.
0- We will help you in all respects and find poitential people who can come under you
0- It is a hard work business.
At the end, a person who was with me told him straight on the face that we were not interested. Immediately the smile went out of him and he told us that even if we begged to join his group he said that he could not take us in as were not ready and he told us that some person had brain washed us. He asked us if the other person who brainwashed us was controlling our lifes and not us. Further he stated that the person who brain washed us would make a superb Quixstar partner as he has the capacity to take control of other people's lives.
So this time when he left, he did not make an appointment to come and meet with us next week or in the future.
I am giving this detailed information to CD's so that they will not be cheated. Their main aim looks like to make us feel like crap and then strike while the Iron is hot. Luckily since I has seem many people being cheated by Quikstar, I took heed not to fall in his trap.
Hope this helps.

I am not sure how it works but I know a lot of people in our community are into this . If any one can shed some light on this , It will be great . Whether its a good business or just a waste of time??. Thanks
To TK:
TK, your problem is, you are too much of a nice person to say no. Even after knowing these guys are from MLM, how did you even invite them TWICE into your dwelling?
To Apsingla:
The problem with Amway/Quikstar/MLM is:
1) False advertising and IT JUST DOES NOT WORK!
Let me elaborate. I came across this 10 years ago when i was a student in a US university (it was called Amway back then). In our batch, 25 of my friends jumped into this business with uncontrollable enthusiasm. The promise made by the salesguy/aka “Diamond” was that within 6 months to a year, one will start making income sufficient enough to dump the day job for good. Within 2 years, 23 of them left this business after tremendous struggle with finances and personal relationships.
After 10 long years, the last remaining 2 are still hanging onto this and STILL DOING THEIR DAYJOBS (both husband and wife). What does this tell you?
What these business gives you is the \"amazing feeling\" of doing something important and dramatic. Nothing else.
Here's a little test for all MLM enthusiasts.
1) Are you presently holding onto your day job(s) in addition to doing the MLM business?
2) Is any part of your income coming from non-Amway sources?
If you answered yes to anyone of the two, then you know that Amway will never work for you in this lifetime (or the next).
Cheers,
Seenappa
