Hi Fido,

I see your comment on uncelpritam.com. I am sorry that you have passed a very unprofessional opinion on a person who has been serving the newly arriving immigrants in Canada since last twelve years. The person running the facility takes personal interest in the business and has an outstanding accommodation facility. In fact it would be nice if you come out and visit the location, yourself. I have been a member of the facility in the past and can say that I have had a very very pleasing experience there. Not only that as a newly arrived immigrant the owner of the facility himself went out his way to see that I am employed and on the first day of my arrival I was able to start working in Canada (of course after having my SIN No.) because of this man. Without knowing me and without any expectation he helped me. I can understand that you may have had one off situation there, but let me tell you and anyone who wants to be a guest at uncelpritam.com, it is a very nice facility, the folks are very very kind hearted and understanding people. In fact i would go to the extent of saying that this man has a great contribution to my success in Canada. I had been through very difficult times when I used to live there, and this man like my own father morally supported me and encouraged me. I can go on and on but am stopping here with the request to those reading Fido's comment that please do not get carried away by it. If you are going to be at Uncelpritam.com please go there, I am sure that you will not only have a home in Canada but also a fatherly figure with you.

Outstanding - my foot !! You call a dingy basement accommodation with dirty bunk beds and a dirtier wash room with centipedes crawling and 10 bodies using it - outstanding - not to mention dirty linen :(. Uncle Pritam should thank his stars that Authorities have not got to him and may be for the same community reasons , I have not complained as well , but would not hesitate to do so if needed.

Uncle Pritam is simply exploiting new comer Indians by providing them sub standard accommodation and charging them as soon as they arrive ... He is very very money minded .Most of the ppl I knew when I was there , were complaining and leaving after there 1st month was over . Be aware - DO NOT pay one full month rent w/o trying the accommodation for 1 day .... Imagine exploiting new people of your own community who are not even aware of Canada .

Check out other guest houses .In the same price that Uncle Pritam provides you a 'sharing bunk bedded dingy basement room' , others which are also mentioned in the above post will give you an independent above ground well furnished room and then you will realize that Uncle Pritam is conning you.

Not to mention , Uncle Pritam will try and 'help you' by recommending you to some dead end labor jobs , not disclosing that he gets commission out of that ;)

Last , but not the least I have not posted on unclepritam.com as the above post suggests. Uncle Pritam , please be aware that impersonating someone else on a forum is known as 'trolling' and you risk being banned for that .

I arranged for a friend's stay at Sunny Newcomer. Run by Chinese folks, they have a couple of locations. The one where my friend stayed was at Don Mills/Sheppard where one of the old apartment buildings in Parkway Forest has been converted to owned condos. They have a 4 bedroom apartment with a shared bathroom between three rooms and the master bedroom comes with an ensuite (Costs more, though). They charge around $28 for the other rooms. There is a shared kitchen and living room with free local calls. Each room has a TV with wireless internet accesss. They also provide keys to the apartment, laundr room, the rented room as well as the main building. Overall, my friend stayed for one week was pretty satisfied with the experience.

My Dear Friend Fido,

"I have not posted on unclepritam.com". Read my post with an open mind. It can also mean a comment "regarding" or on the subject or an object. I do respect your space and the fact that you are dissatisfied with a service. If you read my post (again with an open mind), then I have respected your space and opinion. I am sure that you have your reasons to be upset with something. You have a right to be. But going to the extent - " Uncle Pritam , please be aware that impersonating someone else on a forum is known as 'trolling' and you risk being banned for that" - MAY communicate that you are venting for some another unknown reason. Fine it is your space. But let me assure you that I am not Uncle Pritam, number one and that on the Internet don't we all in impersonate in some remote way? Atleast, we all use an alias don't we? I guess FIDO is the same. Just as you have an opinion to share so do I on the same subject matter. I guess others reading your post would have a more positive impact on your opinion if you come out to be a gentle person.

Anyways, my friend Fido, I did not mean to hurt your feelings or opinions I respect them in full. Internet is a free space. But believe me I am not what you claim me to be. If someone has a negative experience, another person can have a positive experience from the same event, service or anything for that matter. If after this you still feel " Uncle Pritam , please be aware that impersonating someone else on a forum is known as 'trolling' and you risk being banned for that" - go ahead I am very positive you will be proved wrong.

And just to let you know (since you are promoting..) the websites you mentioned http://www.sunnynewcomer.com." rel="nofollow">LINK http://www.barryhouse.net" rel="nofollow">LINK, I cannot access them from my computer.

Instead of wasting time and 'space' (pun intended) I would have appreciated if you could have given some meaningful inputs .

Big question - Why would have I gone to Uncle Pritam at the first place ? And then why would I warn others against him and recommend other guest houses ??

--edited on mod's request---

I am sure all said and done , my efforts to show others better locations will bear fruit when they will compare his basement accommodation / multi sharing washroom with private bedrooms from others . I sincerely do not want anyone else who reads Canadian Desi to fall prey to any of his kinds.

I agreed with you FIDO, but on other side I will suggest that we should not fight on this topic. All our senior desi’s are here to show all new comers a better place to live, how to go about things when they arrive (what we have send on this site). May be the person who experienced with this uncle P shared his views and tells others to be careful as his experience was bad. And I say if one enjoyed UP hospitality the other may not like, its all depend upon how we live.

Dear Fido (whoever you may be),

You have a good intention in your heart. I do appreciate such persons. But don't you feel that you are agressively trying to impress your feelings on others and trying to create your impression as only one in the entire world.

Just now when I was searching in this website abt my requirements, I suddenly came across your forum. Your arguements and india12's counter arguements seemed to be quite interesting to me.

Let me tell you that I had been a resident at Uncle's house and lived there for five weeks. It was sometime last year. Uncle did come to pick me and my family from airport. We had never travelled to any foreign country before. But I can say with a gaurantee that no one will care for you in an alien country like he did to us. We are so much thankful to him as he made us comfortable here, showed us the way to lead a nice, decent and truthful life in Canada. He had built a very good philosophy of life in us.

It is obvious that he will not come with you always. But he did lead us all in one way or the other. Check it by yourself. Put your right hand on your heart and remember the warmth you had felt when he came at the airport on the very first day of landing. And the next day going to the HRDC for SIN card. This is the only way to fulfil your dollar dreams.

Way back in our country, no one will do this for you. Not even if you put lots of money in front. They will rather cheat you and you would end up saying nothing.

It will be another amazing fact for you that after almost an year, when we needed to shift from one place to another, we came to Uncle's home (not a house now) and stayed here for one month. It felt as if we were at our father's home for some time. These are the very few incidents I am conveying. But my experiences with him are endless. Man, you cannot count the good works of your father. Are you able to?

Now abt centipedes and all other blah blah shit you told. Dear friend Fido, dont you know that once you are given a place to live, it is your duty to maintain it and not the landlord's. Hope you must now be living in a rental apartment and telling your landlord to come daily to clean your washroom and change your linen. Is this the case? So it goes like this, "God gave us birth on this beautiful world and told us to enjoy. But also it is our duty to maintain beauty of this world." Hope you get my message.

So, stop blabbering abt this matter and concentrate on your work and use your energy in positive direction. Do something constructive. If you really want to convey something to Uncle. Do it directly. He is always open for critical points because it will give him some ideas to improve his services which in the meantime will help new people coming in. If possible and if your ego allows you to, then do come down at Uncle's place and see for yourself.

Please pardon me if knowingly or unkowingly I have hurted your sentiments. But it is the pure feeling at heart which I had presented in front of you.

Sorry for writing this long. But emotions at times do not stop from flowing.

Jai Hind. Jai Jinendra. Jai Shri Krishna.
