I think we miss the larger issue. There are so many things that Muslims do which are against the teachings of Koran. For example, working on Friday, charging interest on loan, fighting against muslim (Muslim Indian soldier fighting against Pakistan) etc. If Bukhari believes that one should follow Koran in totality, then the Jehad should start with killing Kafirs as mandated by Koran abd Indian constitution should be replaced by Sharia Law. Why Bukhari is not advocating these things openly? These days he tries to be in lime light and is testing waters. Fortunately for him, Sonia Congress and communist have succumbed to the pressure. At the time of next election, he will certainly be able to bargain for more money and seats.
I am surprised that no one India asked this idiot his opinion on fatricidal war going on between Sunni and Shia in Iraq. Alas! the world's largest democracy has also largest uneducated and Bukhari & Co can get away with stupid Fatwas.
On side note, don't you gus think that quite a sizable population is unpatriotic? How much money are stashed abroad by politicians and beauracrats? Any thing which goes against the interest of nation is unpatriotic and by this count, most our MPs and industrialist are unpatriotic.

Please forgive if I had interrupted, an auto driver in a forum of PGs and doctorates from American Universities. Also forgive for a slightly long reply, as no one has the time nor interest to read the same.
To begin with I have no love lost for Syed Bhukari. At the same time we can see a confusing picture emerging during the last 7 or 8 years, BJP and its entourage, take diametrically views to people like Bhukari. There was one particular leader in BJP, whom everyone considered as future Prime Minister, but died under tragic circumstances. This leader came from the ranks of RSS, who hold the key to the patriotism chest. With all due respects to his leadership qualities, he was not even able to bring his son up in a proper way nor had good relationship with his own brother. Does it make any difference, as an RSS Pracharak, he might have sung “Vande Mataram” to his heart’s content.
OTH, Sonia Gandhi, whom all of us belittle her stature because of her being an Italian is leading the country (though by remote control). She seem to follow a typical Indian woman life style after husband’s death. If she had gone like Jaq. Onassis, nobody can question, since she basically belongs to a western country. She voluntarily subscribing to an Indian way of life is a big tribute to our culture.
To counter Syed Bhukari, don’t we have Late Shenai Maestro Bismillah Khan. He would not leave his hometown Varnasi (not Mecca), though he could not get proper medical treatment. During his final days he even declined to have even an air conditioner fitted, lest he offend the feelings of the poor in his neighbourhood. Similarly we can cite the lives of people like M.S. Subalakshmi (who started as movie actress) and Mother Teresa as icons from different communities for their service to our country. I may go abroad to earn money. If at all, I would like to defend a country which can throw up people like those mentioned above. Not just because somebody said “you are with us or against us”.
By unnecessarily giving news footage to what the Imam said we are only serving their intentions. You can very well ignore him, the same way you ignore ramar.

To counter Bukhari we need the "secularists" (or so they claim to be secularists) to raise their voice...but as Jake has pointed out in an earlier thread..they are too scared to be heard....afterall they belong to a religion first and then to a country ....

What I meant was money stolen from poor people. These guys make huge pile of black money out of corruption/kickback, Subsidy and budget meant for welfare of poor and put in Swiss banks/Cayman Island etc. You can not compare immigrants who are contributing to Indian economy with dirty politicians.

Ramar Seems to be have very intimate knowledge of Sonia's life style. Ramar, perhaps is a man with high connection.
