hello
i read many threads in here about the "canadian experience" that employers want. i wanted to ask whether studying in a canadian university is considered "canadian experience" or not?? is it easy to get job after graduating from universities like York University and U of Toronto.??? or do employers still create a fuss about "canadian experience"???

Thanks

Graduating from Canadian universities in itself does not assure a job and they too face similar situations and questions in a job hunt,

The area where the canadian graduates do not face a problem is the recognition of the education credentials.

they need not go through the evaluation process or struggle like foreign graduates to be considered on par with canadian graduates

If you have researched the different discussions on "canadian experience" then you know that soft skills are paramount in the assessment by an employer of your 'Canadian experience'.

I know of a few foreign trained professionals that have found employment easily in their line of work here in Canada. They did not have to upgrade their skills - and I dont think its a coincidence that they appear to have excellent interpersonal skills etc.

Good luck!

It actually depends on your field. If you are looking for employment in fields in which you need a provincial license (engineers, doctors, accountants etc) then it may be better to have a local degree.

In other unregulated fields, you may not need a local degree if you have the required soft skills.

I am neither morning rain or thunder (or lightning for that matter :) ), but here's my input.

Automotive field in the areas of Manufacturing engineering, quality engineering and similar fields.

Between 5 to 8 yrs of experience - 70 to 85K
Less than 5 yrs - 50 to 65K

Automotive field - program Management - 75 to 90k

Hope this helps.
