Mahek Beauty Salon (in the plaza that has all indian shops including brar) at Albion and Islington. They charge $ 5 for kids, even for mundan and $ 7 for men hair cut. I found them good.
Ofcourse $ 5 is their charge and besides u can give whatever else u want to bcos of mundan.

Any jeweller will do it when you buy earring for your daughter. The cheapest ones (of gold) should be around $25. You can easily find Punaji, Lankan and Gujarati Jwellers.

Has anyone done Mundan for their babies recently in GTA?
Any suggestions around it? Locations, Saloon names etc.
When one offers the hair in the temple, do u have to do the mundan at the saloon or wherever the same day?
My sister-in-law got her daughter's mundan done from a saloon in square one (i don't remember the name).They charged $20 and gave photo of mundan and a cerificate too!

Just curious.
What is the reason for this "mundan" tradition? Is it still relevant in this day and age and in this country?
I cried a lot (as per my parents) when I underwent this ceremony. And I refused to shave my head during my "yagnopavit" ceremony. I do not wear "janoi"as I believe that these are the traditions that were forced on me when I was too young to understand the reason behind all theese Hindu ceremonies/traditions.
But now you grew up. You should know it now.
