Good Job Mr.President !

Mr.Kalam seems to maturing into a good role model as a President, by his action of not signing the Office of Profit bill and his opinion on the reservation issue. Do you know that Kalam is a strict vegetarian !.

This speech makes him stand out in the league of Presidents and hopefully Bush can learn something from this in addition to spelling/pronouncing the word nuclear !.

Bangalore,June 6: President A P J Abdul Kalam has favoured India and IBM jointly developing and marketing nano computers.

Addressing a gathering of IBM employees here, hosted by its Chairman and CEO Samuel J Palmisano, Kalam said IBM is traditionally driven by its founder Thomas J Watson's vision of \"thinking\" as a launch pad.

\"I was thinking what can be launched from IBM's launch pad, particularly from India,\" he said.

\"Can IBM and Indian enterprises and academic institutions with their combined core competence launch a system or a product that will be new to the world as Watson's \"THINK\" slogan made a great change to the world of computers ?\".

\"Can India and IBM think together for design, develop, produce and market nano computers with 10 terabytes/inch2 in eight nano metres size chip ? Is it possible ? I am sure you may have many experiences,\" the President said.

Speaking in general terms, Kalam said most of the computers of the future and accessories will be micro-sized, wearable and will have wireless communication with each other.

It is predicted that by 2019, the computational ability of an ordinary PC would exceed the capability of human brain and by 2029 it would be around 1,000 times that of the human brain.

\"My view is definitely the creativity of the human mind will always be superior to the most powerful computers in the horizon,\" the President said. \"Creativity has to be the business of IBM and other knowledge organisations.\" (Agencies)

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....

"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

This is the first time that i have been proud of the indian president in so many decades. Though his office and designation is a Rubber stamp, it is good to have an educated and knowledgeable president.
Just my view
Sidenote : I remember when coming back to India in 1983 and finding Ghani Zail Singh as the president. So many jokes about him floated in my school about him not knowing english.

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.

IBM should first reserve 27% jobs for OBC's and 22.5% for SC/ST's...Then they should have some

SC/ST/OBC innovation and General category innovation.
Next, the innovations in the reserved category should be marketed vigorously..even though they many not be up to the mark...

If IBM fails to implement reservation...then better beware of Arjun Singh..*Mai Baap*
