Bala,
There is scope for process engineers in Alberta if you have experience in oil/petrochemicals.
Send your resume to Melissa Talbot and her e-mail address is
If you have experience in pharmaceuticals there are job openings for validation engineers. For process engineering jobs check out workopolis or monster you may find something which matches your experience.
If you called for interview they will ask detailed questions about the processes that you have worked on, the equipments handled etc so make sure that you are prepared for this. To gauge your technical skills one trick they use is while explaining their process they will intentionally mention something wrong a couple of times. So be attentive to what they say and correct them.

Hi everybody,
Can anybody explain the scope of Polymer/Plastic Engg specialization in Canada.
Polystyrene and polycarbonate parts are widely used in the biomedical industry. Invista (formerly Dupont) if I remember right is a very large manufacturer of nylon air bags.
Check out this link for Southmedic http://www.southmedic.com/they are involved in manufacturing parts for the biomedical industry. Use Google and find the address of Invista and Baxter.
Remember polymers are widely used in the automobile industry too. Are you interested in doing studies or are you looking out for a job?

Bala,
I don't it would be possible for you to get a job before getting your PR. Why don't you contact Mellisa and ask her? She knows quite a few companies which are involved in process engineering. Who knows you may be lucky and may find one so give it a shot and see.
