Are you ready to leave your job and be on EI? do you have the no. of hours for EI? You can ask your agency to give you ROE stating the factswhich will make you eligible for EI.
If you wish to be in the same job, tell your employer that you will complain to the Labour ministry and Human right commission. The possible things that can happen is :
1. he may fire you
2. he may change and be OK for some time. But he will look for a time when he can charge you with a mistake.
3. he may not change but still give the same attitude/ problem.
4. he may really change.

And the only thing that the labour ministry / human right's dept. can do is to give you EI (if you are eligible).
Follow the boss's time. come 5 mins early and leave 5 mins late. what is 10-15 mins going to do in 24 hrs.. (if you really want the job)
Know that all regulations favour the employer (to most extent) since they are reponsible for the booming economy.
The choice is yours!

Cool Girl,
This is what you should do:
First calculate the number of hours you have EI (910 for the first time).
second write down all you have against your boss.
Go to your agency and tell them the facts. Tell them that your Boss made you stressed you out and that you no longer would like to work for him. Ask the agency to relive you of your duties give you ROE (Record of Employment) as reason K and then write harrasment. Donot get the ROE as QUIT (if it is Quit, the you will not get EI). Mostly the agencies will try to give you ROE with QUit so that they will not be asked by the govt.. why so many people get EI from that agency. Also they will not give you ROE with harrasment since if they give like this, you can sue theagency. They will give you ROE with some other reason which will get you EI (if you are eligible.) Go to the EI site for the list of harrasment reasons. All your stated reason fall under the Harrasment clause.
If the agency refuse to give you ROE without Quit which makes you ineligible for EI, then donot get the ROE, donot resign the job and contact a free legal aid clinic or local community centre for FREE legal advise.
This is my opinion and i summerised it with the information i gathered from my friends. Please follow this or donot follow this. I am giving this advise under no obligation or fee.
TK
Sidenote : I welcome other CD members help /advise in this situation. To get a second opinion.
sidenote2 : Even in my office i am made to handle people who are drunk, use abusive words , threaten me, make me work oevrtime w/o compensation etc.. Looks like my office is not an exception.

You mentioned that you work for an employment agency. Do you temp? If so, can you speak to someone at the temp agency to give you another placement?

If not - as TK mentioned you do have options.
1) Review your resume and start looking for other positions asap. This can start while you are still working and often its easier to find a position when you currently haveone.

2) Assess the situation: Can you remain in this job until youfind another position? Are you afraid this boss will physical assault you? if so, contact Labour Standards or the Human Rights Commission. You can find this information online.

3) TK: The number of hours required for EI are not necessarily 910, not for the first time or subsequent times after that. ONLY an EI officer can assess and calculate a person's eligibility. If you quit the job and ask for a Record of employment (ROE) .. and it says that you 'quit', you can still take this to EI office, explain your situation (it will help if you can document the dates and incidents in a clear, consise manner) and explain your reasons for leaving the job. The EI officer will assess your situation and you may still be found eligible.

Keep us posted on how you are doing.

I agree with all MR's points except this one :

Number of hours of work required to qualify
Most people will need between 420 and 700 insurable hours of work in their qualifying period to qualify, depending on the unemployment rate in their region at the time of filing their claim for benefits. To find out this number...

In some instances, a minimum of 910 hours in the qualifying period may be needed to qualify. For examples :

if you are in the work force for the first time;
if you are re-entering the work force after an absence of two years.
*However, if you have received at least one week of maternity or parental benefits in the 208 weeks preceding the 52-week period prior to the qualifying period, you will require between 420 and 700 hours to qualify for regular benefits.
violations from previous EI claims may also increase the number of hours required to qualify for EI benefits

Thanks : EI website (govt. of canada)

I was happy to hear that you got a job after you advertise in the CD website and I am unhappy to hear that you did not have a good boss.....

How did you get this job, through any reference........? And what type of industry or company that you are working?

Your posting sounds me that you are in a situation to call 911
