MR, Imagine you are immigrating to a new country under an immigration policy set by the govt. . Do they not even have commensense as to how these people will find a place to stay? Of course immigrants will pay for it.
You think so? I find FOBs complaining about Nickels and Dime stuff, you think they'll pay for AirPort pickup, rental and lodging? Also, the kind of lodging the Govt. directs newcomers towards may not be upto the FOB standards (6 people living in a 1 bedroom Apartment) and please, don't give me the crap about how they have to do it to save money - they are just being cheap.
Maybe we should petition the Govt. to form a new Ministry of Airport Transpotation

Sure they do. But do you think USA gives two hoots about its Permanent Reisdents? The number of New Immigrant settlements services available in Canada is mind boggeling, specially for someone like me who has for years faced the indifferent attitude of the US Govt. towards non-Americans.

When i arrived in the GTA, i found the airport to be the same as malaysia or singapore (which does not have immigration). There was one booth for tourist information and it was closed (4:00 pm on Sunday). There was also a lady who gave the new comer guide and this near the immigration. I took a cab to the nearest hotel .

DT,
USA does not have an immigration policy such as Canada (except for green card lottery). So you canot equate copper with gold.
Looks like you have bad experience with USA.
Any plans to leave the Ghetto?
And the services that these settlement services offer is of course very questionable. They have none at the airport.

Interesting isnt it.. that a country (USA) that has a stricter immigration policy has more people vying to get in (including people in Canada) however a country that allows more people in also get critisized moreoften?
Regardless of the fact that in the US, it takes much longer to obtain PR and citizenship? Why is there a pattern of this discrepency?
