Hello CD Members,
I hope some CD members live in either of the above area...(Oakville, Meadowvale, Streetsville).
Please let me know your comments about.
1. How do you feel living in this place with a family.
2. Any specific area to avoid considering Crime etc..,
3. School for the Kids (Unless the area is multicultural, school is going to be difficult for my kid).
4. Average house price (detached).
5. Transport (All 3 places have Go Train, Roads may remain clogged during peak hours).
6. Anything you want to point out generally.
Thanks in advance..
JRF.

Mississauga-Streetsville and Meadowvale are good places to live and raise a family. Mississauga is the safest City of Canada and there is not much crime in the above areas. Since they are older areas of the City you will find very matured neighbourhoods, older homes, nature trails, Credit River, Lake Aquitaine, Lake Wabukayne, Miller Grove Trail and Glen Erin Trail- that are great ways to escape the fast pace of city life and explore the nature.
Schools have a good mix from many ethnic backgrounds.
An approx. price of a good 2 bedrooom apartment, 3 bedroom condo townhouse and 3 bedroom 1500 sq ft detached home can be 170K, 200K and 300K respectively.
You can find easy access to Meadowvale GO and Streetsville GO station and highways 401, 403 and 407 from the above areas.
If you need advise on buying a home, feel free to consult me or any other Realtor.
I do work in this area a lot and also live in the vicinity.
Oakville is also a beautiful place and can be a good option to buy. It has some excellent schools and Golf courses.

Hello Amit,
Really appreciate your comments...
I am going to start working in downtown, I've got 4.5 year old daughter. School is very important factor, I will try to collect Medowvale school ratings..
I prefer to live around Driving Distance from the commercial infrastructure of Mississauga but at the same time prefer a calm neighbourhood.. this is one specific reason I consider Meadowvale....
I plan to rent a place in either Meadowvale or Streetsville, stay for sometime, feel the air and decide.
Any other residents of Meadowvale or Streetsville, Please add your comments...

Meadowvale rental apartment buildings on Montevideo Rd, Battleford Rd and Aquitaine Rd starting at $1000 pm can be a good option for you. You can go directly to the rental offices. You might also consider Erin Mills (South of Britannia)- John Fraser family of schools-both Middlebury and Castlebridge elementary schools are very good. These schools are close to many affordable townhomes that rent for 1350 approx. plus utilities.

Hi Amit,
In Mississauga, if the detached home costs around 300K, generally, how old are they?
Can you recommend any good middle schools(6th grade) in Mississauga area?
300K homes like above are generally 15+ years old. It is not the age that decides the price, but the size of the home, lot size and many other factors.
There are many middle schools that are good. You will have to do your own research- but definitley I can give some tips to search the best schools:
There are many ways to do this. You can visit the following websites: local school boards, EQAO (Education Quality and Accountability Office), check out the school report cards published by the Fraser Institute and Ontario Parents Council. Visit these links here: http://realestate-ontario.com/links/Toronto_GTA_Schools.htm in Greater Toronto Area.
