Constipation problem

Hi Guys,
I face the problem of Constipation. As here in Canada we have to wake up early during working days, sometimes have irregular eating during whole day all result in this factor. Any advise in this matter will be highly appreciated.I need to know any kind of ayurvedic cure for this problem

Long term remedy:

Eat plenty of fibrous fruits. Fruits like Pears, Bananas, Apricots will help you to defecate well.

Mid term remedy:

You could try metamucil biscuits or flavored drink every night before going to bed. If you find it costly try the Isabgol the same stuff from Indian shops. As the fibre size is quite high, you might find it bit difficult to swallow initially. Isabgol is much cheaper.

Short term remedy:

You could use Milk of Magnesia, which could help you out on the acidity problem and help you to relieve better in the morning.

Best Solution:

Regulate your eating habit; small doses more times with plenty of water. More solids in the morning, with cereal, and the least solids during nite.

Drinking lots of hot water works wonders. Hot beverages (tea, coffee etc) too.

Hi,

Prune Juice, bran / fibrous cereal, lots of water, fibre food/veggies/ fruits, cream of wheat, coffee is no good(it creates constipation).

Eat a banana every night. Exercise every day. If you cannot exercise, incorporate walking into your lifestyle.

Constipation has been one of the major moneymakers for doctors & pharmaceutical companies for ages.

Reason?

1. Normally it is harmless for short periods (say a few days)
2. Record is said to be over 120 days
3. Once a person is hooked on to worrying about it, he tends to take laxatives. And as laxatives flush out everything, it takes about 5 days for motions to return to normal. Now, no one, who is closely monitoring his constipation, would wait for full 5 days.
4. So they tend to become permanent patients.

Incidentally for all practical purposes, entire wisdom and treatment for the condition has already been narrated by by all the contributors above. There is nothing else to add, except being regular and not worrying about it.

Wild rice helps a lot too.
However, long-term, you need to investigate the root cause of your condition.
Eating high-fibre foods every day can mask the real problem.
