Here's another thought - get tested for food intolerances, especially gluten and casein intolerance.
A stool IgA test is best for this purpose.

A lot of the time body metabolism is slow because of food intolerances.
It also creates all kinds of other physical and emotional problems, which most people are not able to relate to food.

If you want somebody to watch if you not cheating, join St. Michael's diet research study as volunteer. Currently, they are enrolling volunteers to study effects of adding more fruits and veg on reduction of serious health conditions like cancer, stroke etc.

Generally what they do is they will do some tests like blood, blood pressure and either qualify you or disqualify you as volunteer.

If you are accepted, then you have to follow their diet. The diet is not restrictive but general in nature like how many servings of fruit and veg you must eat a day. They even give you receipies. In this study, I guess they will ask you to reduce intake of meat and more veg and fruits. They will even give you the portion sizes you must eat and what fruits and vegs are allowed. Periodically you have to go to the hospital to do blood, blood pressure, weight test. They will do this over a period of 6 months. Sometimes they may ask you to maintain a food diary.

Bottomline, you get free advice on diet and nutrition, regular monitoring of blood pressure etc if you can spare few hours periodically. It is free.

Thanks for the info.. My current work schedule does not permit me to attend or enrol in this free program.
On a sidenote : We are having a common pizza lunch at our office tomorrow and i am wondering how i can restrict eating Pizza tomorrow. One of the girls in our office had threatened our boss to sue him for making us work for long hours without any overtime and he has agreed to give us 1:1 overtime after 44 hours. But he still wants us to work 72 hours a week. The Pizza lunch is to discuss the new rules and sign an agreement that we accept it.

Eat things that you like. Restrict the quantity though. Also try & cut down on things like butter, ghee, oil, etc. Instead of white bread, eat brown bread.

You can eat weight watchers Pizza {Pizza without cheese is available...}it wont taste that good thought but still you will have the satisfaction of eating one without gaining much calories ...I ve done that before...:)
