well if there is something like paper glass in India they should patent it
Btw a glass is called a glass even in Canada, it should be made of glass though , if not then its a cup as in a tea cup. if its big its called a mug as in a beer mug.
Another thing I realised when I was in India, is that as Indians being so passionate about cricket, we call everything bats and balls e.g. Badminton bats, Squash bats .. no its badminton racquets, its badminton shuttle cocks (though most people call them birds or shuttles here). Ping Pong (not table tennis) paddles, though some call them bats too. Snooker cue, golf driver, baseball club(right?), hockey stick, hockey puck.
Also don't be too liberal in using the word balls and don't say it too loud. I remember I went with this friend (recently from India) to play pool and he kept saying BALLS very loud and it got quite embarrasing.

... and another one, some people in India call batteries "cells"
When we were new here, me & my sister went to a store along with my dad. And my dad had to buy some batteries but he wasn't able to find any in that store so he asked the cashier if they sold 'cells' too, and the girl was like "what?" and then he repeated it, and this happened 2-3 times until my sis speaks up suddenly "batteries!"
