Masood,
Let me know about your Montreal schedule and we can arrange to meet. Did not know you have business interests in Montreal too.
If there are some other Montrealers lurking and are interested...let me know.
Chandresh,
Hope you keep going. Some initiatives take time to develop and grow. In my experience most good things take time. Someday, maybe all of us can meet in Montreal (its something else!) too. But lets take baby steps. Toronto first, since that seems to be the hapenning place as far as desis are concerned. Hope to see you all soon ( late next month or early next year).

Chandresh,
I appreciate your effort for planning such a forum. I wish you all success and hope to be part of it when I start living in GTA.

Chandresh,
Great Idea. I can understand your surprise as very few of senior members responded, including me. This is not an excuse but I have too much load at work that I rarely check CanadianDesi. I did notice the heading of the tread "THE NEXT STEP", but never clicked on it to see what it is about. May be it didn't appeal me enough...
Chandresh, you stole my Idea - I was just planning to call everybody at my home on Diwali! Then thought let us do it on Christmas, but it is good that Chandresh started this and we all become part of it.
This is definately a good idea. This is the reason this site is started and we must extend it. We must take it to the next step.
Interestingly the members who responded are not from Toronto... Why? May be in Toronto everybody is budy with his/her own circle?
Chandresh count me on december 7. We can decide what to do next then.
Now I have an idea for members who can't attend the meeting like Massood. We keep one speaker phone if possible and give that number to Canadiandesis who are interested. If this is not possible we can use anybody's cellphone number with weekends free

Where are seniors? BL? Guju? CPM? Tummudu?

Thanks GG!
I am not surprised that the seniors have not responded. However, the enthusiasm would have been more if they had.
Just in case people are wondering where I live - I am in Thornhill (Yonge & Steels) which is a more central location for both people from Mississuaga as well as Scarborough & Markham , and being right on Yonge, very approachable too, both by car as well as public transport! I can send my full address and directions to people who send me an e-mail since I do not want to advertise the same to the whole world!
And another thing that I forgot to mention - I would like the married members to come here with spouses. This is about life in canada as an individual, family, and society! And it does not have to be restricted to members of Canadiandesi. You may bring your friends - both desi and "white chocolate" types (I wonder how we can request her to join in - she can be a really good link for all of us to local white population) who are genuinely interested in the betterment of desi immigrants.
And yes, where r u BL and GC? If not for anything else, let's meet to make new friends!

I think this is definately a great idea and as Massood pointed out, its about time. The reason I didn't respond yet is that I have a couple of upcoming events that might tie me up for the next couple of months (I'm in India for the whole of Jan.) So I might not be able to actively participate for the intial meetings.
Dec 7th however works for me and I will be glad to make it. Looking forward to meeting you all .
Chandresh, I'll send you a personal message to get your address and other info.
